So a few months ago, Atos introduced scrapping artifacts for ancient essence to repair other artifacts. this was done for the sake of removing artifacts from the world as the market was super saturated with them. How about having artifacts give small amounts of scrap gold and/or silver also? Mass amounts of artifacts would get scrapped or they would hold some value again for the scrapping. As long as the amount given per artifact wasn't totally crazy, it wouldn't have any long term negative impact on the mining economy. The recipes have been in the game since the beginning, so that part is already in place. What's your thoughts?

Not sure about that, yes it would increase the price of artifacts, but at the expense of gold and silver ore price.

So to make it worth then lets say the minimum artifact price is 1k (and that is probably a bit low)

Gold and silver ore is 48 per.

So to be worth it (ignoring fuel as needed either way)

    Ingot (4 ore)
    Ingot (2 ore + 12 scrap)
Silver and gold is about 48 G per ore

So to be worth it 12 scrap has to less than 2 ore

So scrap need to be worth less than (2*48)/12 = 8 G

So an essence need to give as least 1000/8 = 125 scrap. So this is not a small amount of scrap.

Remembering this will also drop the price of ore so needs to be even more and 1k gold for an essence is probably an under estimate.

So I think it would just end up with both artifacts AND gold and silver ore being overly saturated. At least at the moment it is only one of the 3 commodities that are overly saturated.

Thinking about this, if you pick something with less supply and more demand, it is a viable solution.

So i would suggest that being able to turn ancient essence into 2 beetle carapaces may be viable.

Wish I could get gold and silver scraps back from salvaging enchanted and masterworked player crafted gear because there's so many gold and silver ingots used in making them.

That would actually make a lot of sense, and if it gave a decent enough return would help remove all the 'junk' that people try to sell on vendors to recoup any of the expenditure, by making salvage a viable option.

As I mentioned though, a small amount of scraps per salvage. Initially the price of gold/silver ore may dip, but it wouldn't be a lasting effect once the majority of artifacts are gone from the world. As long as it's implemented on the side of caution and not released with each artifact giving too much scrap. Gold/Silver ore is like Cotos on the market. They are almost always a constant fluctuation with all the competition selling.
