Was it Elysium that has silver deposit?

Elysium mine is where silver deposit is located.

Dont forget to log in single player online so you dont get down there and find a couple people already farming it all out.

So it's all in 5 skull mines? That's pretty rough compared to before.

Guess I'll do some chest runs instead ><

It's hilariously terrible. You need thousands of ore for a single player to get taming to the point where it's useful.
You need thousands of ingots (dozens of thousands of ore) to get a single player to the point they can enchant/masterwork reliably.
Add to that it takes over 75k XP to go from 60 to 70 in a crafting skill? How many millions to get to the "new GM" of 150? Riiiiiight. o_O

And there's no metal scrap recipe for silver ingots, even. SMH.

Leveling crafting is slow. Fair enough, it just makes the skills more valuable does it not? In any case, perhaps your expectations are a touch high. The game's been out less than a week and some solo players are already maxed for the first enchantment slot.

Elysium mines, Verdantis mines, and Hilt all have silver...though much like everywhere in the game atm there's just not a lot in them. I went to Elysium mines to check it out again today, hadn't been there in a while and probably left with somewhere around 40ish or 50ish ores (iron/silver/etc) and a bunch of gems. 90 swift mining and 72 meticulous and potions, you'd think it'd be a bit better haul for as long as I was in there.;)

Hope this isn't because of the bug that doesn't have materials being destroyed on enchanting failure, allowing a player to keep hitting 'craft' without losing their materials but still gain skill levels.

Yes the requirements are pretty ridiculous, I agree. And to only have Silver in 5 skull areas ... sigh.

They also expanded the usage. Was mostly for taming collars, but now it's replaced the 'double mats' system of mastercrafting? 20 ore/attempt

With the skill 60 requirement in order to use the enchanting recipe, by the time you can invoke it, your enchantment rate is well into the upper 50%. And the enchantment specific skill goes up fast for the first 25 levels or so. It takes something like 12-13 attempts to get up in the 90%s.

It isn't leveling crafting that's slow. It's the massive resource requirements and relative rarity of said resources. I don't care how slow I level as long as I can make stuff. I go to single player mode and it still takes me days just to get enough materials to make a halbred head.
A tree should give me more then one or 2 wood per tree.
That's what I think people are unhappy with.

The mine (along with Graff Gem and Ecteter Crag) are instanced, so its not an issue - which is both good (no competion mining the nodes) and bad (no help with Mobs). It is however a very difficult mine to solo, you really need to be level 50 or so before attempting it unless you really know what you are doing. The standard mobs are Kobalds (Melee and Mage) that have around 400 hitpoints, Earth Elementals, hardened Skeletons (archers or fighters), Satyrs (both Mage and Fighter)and their very irritating sidekick, the Faun (Magic user mob that heals the Satyr and can cast confuse and root).
Either go in a party or make sure you are a high enough level to cope. The silver is located in the 2nd and 3rd (secret) cave. I recommend not looting the dead bodies to slow down the spawn and give you a chance to mine. Good luck if you're heading there.

Yes it is a terrible decision to put Silver in only 5 skull areas, but it takes a lot of Silver once you are even high enough level to survive in said areas.

Strangely enough I find salvaging is the best way to increase both Carpentry and Blacksmithing. Ive got Carpentry to over 50 and have'nt yet crafted an item, it was raised just by salvaging axes, hammers and spears.

In my opinion that's another problem.
And yes, I have leveled blacksmithing partly by salvaging. But making equipment is one of the primary jobs of any profession and it just takes too much time and effort. Not too mention have you looked at prices on the player sales guy outside of the crafting thing in owls head. A simple +1 copper dagger is thousands of gold in price. Of course that's why stuff is passing the 7 day sales time and being sent back to seller. You can buy almost as good new dagger for like 250 gold from an NPC. Just doesn't have the 50% add.
