    Details: I did the quest fine but the Gather Cotton blue sparkling marker remains on my map and compass.

    Are you sure it's for the gather cotton quest? That farmer actually gives you two quests: the cotton one and another involving a chicken.

    He actually gives you three quests: The Alpha Wolf, Betty the chicken and the pick cotton one.

    Yes, the blue marker on the map, when you hover over it, tells you what the quest is. It said 'Pick 6 Cotton'. However, posting here today to say that it has cleared. Not sure why, I might have asked the farmer 'Help' again, which I've heard clears 'bugged' quests. So maybe I did that while looking for other quests I believe I am missing.
