A lot of people enjoyed the mimic (not everyone I know). Could be awesome (ot not) to see some more "old-style" creatures from the Ultimas/old rpgs mixed with the new ones. Some examples:

Gelatinous cubes, they could be dangerous for you equipment, or make you a human kebab.

Gazers, aka "fake beholders", the ancient wizard worst pet.

Reapers, your "some kind of mimic" lumberjacking friend.

Zorns, or "wtf is this". The ugly cousin of the Princhers.

Sand traps, something dangerous in your feet, and also the Boba Fett mortal enemy.

I know that was not a kraken, that why I added "another monster". But make me remind the kraken in UO, that was... And when you kill it you got wooden logs. Lol. XD I wonder if any of these monster have any possibility to be in the game. The reaper I think will be, but others... And some of them I really like it!. :)

The Kraken from UO pictured simply used the Corpser graphic (at least for a while... it has since gained its own model).

The Reaper would be a great addition in the lines of the Mimic (does not "activate" until you attempt to interact with it).

The "Sand Trap" I have always known as the Corpser (although UO makes it more of a plant-type creature, so maybe room for a Corpser Plant and a Subterranean Corpser?).

Ah yes... Hydras were also fun in U6, and were kind of added into UO (well, really shoe-horned in based on where they spawn) as a Quagmire.

Yes, the kraken have the same graphic that the coprser, just with another color. They changed it in that new 3D client, but I never like it. :S And yes, true, hydras amd quagmires were pretty similar!

    Lets remember those:

I hope we get a good mix of old and new, however, mainly I hope any "old" creatures are not simply thrown in because they are familiar and nostalgic, but because they can bring an interesting dynamic or challenge to the game.

Yes, for example "gazers" could have the "antimagic" cone. Cubes could be the "repairers dream".
