A lot of threads have been created which are concerned with the new control/target-system and i don't want to say that it's definitely good or bad. The point is, that the actual system is bad implemented! ESO, for example, have a great action-combat system, but for the Elder Scrolls Series this kind of system is "normal".

SotA always was called as a "classical MMORPG with oldscool feeling" - and then an "modern control system" will be served ...

    That's not very oldscool :(

Overwork the new system hardly and make an option, so everyone can select if he want's to use the "modern" system or "classic".

    Other words to this release:
Brittany looks absolute great!! But i call it the "City of Clones" at the moment *gg*

As far as I know, SotA has never been called a "classic MMORPG with oldschool feeling". Everyone assumes it is an MMORPG although even on the Kickstarter website it clearly says that SotA is NOT an MMORPG.

Also, old school didn't have tab targeting. That was more of a mid-school thing with EQ and WoW.

If you're knocking us for going modern, you should also knock us for being online, not shipping on floppies, using graphics with more than 16 colors, letting you use a mouse, and using 3D graphics.

Either way, tab targeting or some form of soft targeting is needed.

Unless you really want to turn every spell, expecially heals into boring (no skills at all required by the player) AOE/AE spells like in the boring ESO game.

Also when i fight 5 or even more mobs at once as an melee, it is really very very hard to pick out a target i want to kill first.
The game just simply decides for me what to kill first, and that bothers me a lot...

There is basically no skill anymore needed to play the game. I can just play blind now, the system will kill everything in front of me no matter what.
Lol i can even leave the PC and tell my 3 year old to hold the left mouse button for me while i do something else in real life like cooking, or taking a smoke break...

But no, I don't "knocking" you anytime - thats only feedback ;)

But when SotA go "modern", please make also a "modern" UI ;)

I don't think term "oldschool" is supposed to mean that you have repeat the old BAD ways or not to take advantage or natural evolution.

It is rather an attempt to respect and preserve the spirit and WORKING aspects of the past master pieces, no matter what are the current fads or mainstream thinking. However, I personally don't have any opinion yet, has SotA succeeded in this or not...

With what oldschool game are we supposed to compare SotA's navigation and GUI anyway?

Im pretty sure floppys were an option for those that got the physical game reward at least they said "pick your medium" and showed floppy disks :p (was a joke)

think the pic was removed now, poop.

Lol if they took the game to floppy just once, then just shipped one of those disks with every physical copy, they'd have so many cool points... And we could all compare which disk number(s) we got hehe

Actually, I would prefer an "official" SotA themed Apple II (or C64 port of course) mini game, on a single floppy. Developed by fans but supervised by LB.

Sad that life offers no time to play with CC65 or 6502 assembler nowadays...
