Wow really nice job capturing the mood of the game Scott ! You should make these longer pieces ! I would love to play these during my Pathfinder games for mood music...

I had a dream SotA supported Roland Sound Canvas and General Midi and it sounded sweet.

I would love to see music compiled using midi. My Roland MT-32 still sounds fantastic.

    I'd quit. :p

For what it's worth, all my music I'm working on for SotA is midi based (as is most of the posts here), just in samplers. ;)

I would love to see a harpsichord in SotA, but they already went with the piano, and I doubt they'll give us another keyboard instrument to play with (at least in Ep. 1). :(

Btw, excellent choice of music to highlight the glory of the harpsichord. Scarlatti is the OG.

Awesome piece Ome. I was going to offer some constructive feedback on how you could develop your material more, but as I kept listening, you did everything I was going to suggest

Well done Ome. The guitar is perfect now. If I had your music tech skills, I'd never hire a performer again.

    Todays rendition
-Did mod wheel articulation to all strings
-Changed most strings to L.A. scoring strings
-Added 1st chair violin and 1st and 2nd chair viola
-Did tons of eq, volume and tweaking
    -did some panning on strings
-Turned down alot of boomy stuff so it might have lost some umph but should sound better on smaller speakers.
In the end I was able to raise volume on mix 5db or so without any clipping

I think I'm gonna settle on this version unless anyone suggests the contrary.
Gonna start workin on other songs now

Thanks to everyone for all the feedback, mixing tips and support.
    We weaved this together

Wombat, I'm really enjoying perusing the forums while your SoundCloud runs.

"Dancing with the Fae" is excellent - as game music I'd love to hear a longer version that had some downtempo portions. Err, what I mean is I really like the instrument and style of this song for adventuring, but it's a little frenetic as background music. That's not a negative criticism, it really does have a madcap and whimsical feel, creates tension (love the little bits of dissonance among those trills), and is actually a little scary, without being too .. carnival-esque. So it would be cool to hear the themes of this song through different movements.

"Storyline" was a neat find too, I just love those ultra-deep booming thrumming drumming bass noises. The deep drums in "Forest of the Elves" are a perfect atmospheric balance to the tinkly melody.

This stuff is really listenable and emotive. Keep up the good work!

So today marks an uneventful end to the contest. I was hoping to see more last minute pieces! Anyway, I've got the sheet music to one more piece that I'd like to dump, but I won't post it because nobody will probably read it anyway. Instead, I'll just post the recording once I figure out how to use soundcloud.
