Is/was there a convention for 2019? Anything in planning if not for 2019, for 2020?

I went to the first and hope its not the last.

    Thanks

    @Lazarus Long

Can you explain what the difference is between the 2 ticket prices of $55 and $350?
    • Attendee
      $55.00+$3.75 Fee
      Select quantity: Attendee
These tickets will be released at a premium rate than all succeeding ticket sales and will grant admittance to Convention. (Includes Digital Cloak)

    • V.I.P. Package
      $350.00+$14.75 Fee
      Select quantity: V.I.P. Package
      (Includes Digital Cloak)

The Attendee ticket gets you into the convention panels with the devs to hear discussion, Q&A, etc.

The VIP package will get you in close with the devs, private face time, paid for extra activities (Shakespeare play on LB's private property, etc.)
Were rolling out the full agenda in August.

Whichever you can afford, go for it. Where else are you going to get an opportunity to meet so many people from this great community face to face?

The VIP ticket last year was well worth the money. I didn't hesitate to do the same this year. I can't wait to see what DEC and crew have in store for us this year!

I really wish you folks wouldn't do this event on literally the other end of the world ^^

    Ninja Edit:
    Are you folks streaming?

The convention name has been modified this year to SOTAICON Shroud of the Avatar International Convention due to the number of guests we have had
who come from other countries. Last year we had folks from 6 different countries not including the US. So start saving those pennies.

And yes we do feel for ya.

As @Belladonna Rose said I usually record and then publish the panels and other stuff after the convention. See http://nbnn.info and go to Pics to see many past years events.

Now as to why it's not live streamed.

We sell tickets to this event, and if we just streamed it free on the internet there would be no reason for anyone to come now would there?

But there MAY be hope yet. :) I have been thinking of a way to get that done this year. So stay tuned.

Meanwhile it's ALWAYS a trip you will never forget.

Isn't that the truth! I loved getting to meet so many great people at SOTACON East back in 2016. Including a broken armed Laz, who had to be rushed to the doctor by @Sean Silverfoot, if I am remembering correctly lol :)

In all honesty, if Blizzard can sell stream tickets you can too ;-)
Add a different cloak to it maybe.
    Just an idea ^^

I recall last year some people were streaming dev sessions on twitch, not sure if that is happening again this year though.

First, what goes on that can be streamed is only the tip of the iceberg. I'd say less than 20% of SotACon is stream-able. What you miss out on is asking questions of the devs-- during the conference, at dinners and lunches, outside of the conference room, casual "bumped into ya" conversations, and more. The conference is small enough to ask all your questions, tell great stories, toss around ideas, etc. And what happens on the other side of the camera is sometimes the best moments of all.

Second, the people watching the livestreams really don't get to ask questions or interact- the Twitch Q&A goes to the hosting streamer, not to the Devs talking at the front. In the case of last year, I believe there wasn't a direct pathway for even relaying the questions back to the conference room for those watching from the streams. A few people tried but it wasn't very fluid.

As a suggestion to the Organizers- if there will be streaming, it might be a good idea to set up a way for the Devs to see questions from the live stream watchers. There are times when the room doesn't have good questions to ask, so its not like there isn't room for filler. That probably means you'd want an Official SotAICon channel.

But really, the best way to enjoy SotACon is to just show up and be yourself.
