SotAwiki Update Thread

Hmm, my earthmage-melee friends always call me bad names, if I use an airelemental on a boss, because, they said, that they can't stun anymore after that airelemental stun. It should trigger the buff for crowd control prevention on the boss.

 

I did bit more testing, and i never saw a crowd control debuff added under the opponent's health bar when the air elemental landed an attack (even when the "stun" attack occurred). These findings were the same regardless of whether i fought a training dummy or a monster. See the pic in my previous post: a separate crowd control icon was not present during the "stun".

Since the chat logs and debuff info both say "stun" (despite no stun occurring), i suspect that others have been fooled by this misleading terminology, and assumed that the air elemental was actually stunning opponents. Also, the icon for the "stun" debuff and for "resist crowd control" look exactly the same, which adds to the confusion.

Anyhow, if someone is able to show the air ele applying a true stun (that halts the opponent's actions and applies a crowd control debuff), let me know and i'll modify the wiki.

I think the word "stun" should be removed from the air elemental's debuff icon and from its chat log entries...if it doesn't actually stun, then the term "stun" should not be used.
Maybe use a term like "power surge" or "electrical burn" or "overcharge" for the attack/debuff.

I filed a bug report.

 

The summoned air elemental never triggers the crowd control buff. Summoned earth elements do, however.

currently I am getting either an "Cannot access the database" or "507 Insufficient Storage" error when trying to access sotawiki.net. Occasionally a page loads but very slow.

I would have looked up who to contact on the wiki but could not get to the team page.
