I thought I fixed it. What is it you're seeing? I'll mention that...

Fleck is not a true merchant. The only thing he can offer is a puzzle item for 1 gold, which happens as part of a conversation and not with a merchant window.

- If you already have the item, he'll say "Fleck have nothing to sell."
- If you don't have the item but do have 1+ gold to make the trade, he'll say "You want to trade, <your name>? Fleck only have one thing to trade. Sell for 1 gold. You want?" You'll have the choice to accept the item and lose 1 gold as part of the conversation.
- If you have no gold, he'll say "Fleck want to trade, but cannot right now."

Are you not seeing these "buy" responses?

 

The status of other satyrs is irrelevant to Fleck.

He only cares if you have 1+ gold and/or the puzzle item.

 

Rats... OK, I'll put Fleck back on my to-do list. But good to know you can keep asking him and eventually he'll offer it. Issue #61765

Right now, there appears to be a 50/50 chance that Fleck's "buy" response will offer the special item. After my fix goes live, there won't be any randomness (as in you'll get offered the item if you don't have it and gave at least 1 gold to buy it).

 

*shrug* Although it doesn't seem likely, I don't have any other explanation.

There's nothing outside that response that will affect the outcome. Each time the "buy" keyword/response is triggered, the game checks if you already have the item in your inventory and enough gold for the trade.

In my tests, I must have gotten a slew of proper responses and, because I never got this bug, I didn't realize the way I set up the checks weren't as rock-solid as they could have been. So, that's my fault and I apologize for the bug getting the game. But thankfully this will be fixed next release.
