Special Early QA testing - new Unity version

Both, so it's not related to the Unity version.

 

A new QA build was released, number 762. This build is still on Unity 2018.2, and does have various changes now (no longer a copy of live.) There is a known issue, using the Parry skill is causing a crash for us internally.

This build has a change to see if we can work around the issue preventing login on some Linux distros. Please test and let us know if there is any change in the behavior.

We will get up a list of JIRAs before too long so yall can see what kinds of changes are in the build.

I'll reinstall Fedora tonight and try it out.

All fine here (Ubuntu 18.04). Capable to login with build 760 and 762.

you may reinstall the QA client.

 

I fully removed the QA client, redownloaded it the login problem still persists. The corrupted file is now gone. But yeah, exact same error when logging in.

 

We will need a new build this one is barely playable. When you start at world map, it is not possible to enter the game anymore. At least on my system.
Also after quitting the client and booting it up to world map it keeps throwing exceptions.

 

The problem is only with certain Linux Distro's. Ubuntu worked from the beginning.

 

Here's a few findings:

1) Fleet flute no longer seems to work for me.
2) "two forward" to increase speed by running doesn't seem to work.
3) Casting "Shield of Crystal" causes the game to immediately crash. Reproduced.
4) Casting "Strength of Earth" causes the game to immediately crash.
5) Night vision, summon water elemental, Resurrection all seem to work without crashing anything.

Yep, i was able to reproduce all of the above.
It seems all of the artifact instruments are bugged.
All of the artifact instruments (including fleet flute) will play music, but there is no buff icon that appears in the upper left corner of the screen, and I receive no buff (same issue whether I am in zone or on overworld).
Devotional buffs are not working either (no buff icon & no buff); however, buffs from obsidian potions, regular potions (such as haste), and food are working (they do give the buff and the buff icon).

So far so good with Ubuntu LTS.

I did notice an oddity with swapping decks. didn't seem to work. At all.

I had to equip my alt deck to bring it up.

Shield of Crystal is unhappy.

Casting enlightenment caused it to freak out. Game froze however system resources seemed to be fine. No massive cpu or disk activity. memory on the high end but alright. Running 762 on the QA server. Tried it several times with the same result. Here is the environment below...

As BT noted, the bug forums are open and that is where bugs should be reported. The issues with shield of crystal has already been noted there multiple times.

When I got home today, I installed Ubuntu 18.04.1 but when I installed the Nvidia proprietary drivers, the desktop wouldn't load, so I'm back to Fedora, which still fails to connect to the web service.

 

Yeah Ubuntu is in my eyes not a GNU/Linux distro. its just on the ignore list.

 

Last time I tried to install AMD Proprietary drivers, my computer wouldn't boot to desktop. I had to reinstall Ubuntu. I found, however, that the stock drivers worked fine and I got good performance out of it.

 

Hopefully this does the trick for our Fedora players.

 

BurningToad already noted that the QA build is using 2018.2.14f1. So it would appear not.

 

And the Unity folks state that they only support Ubuntu, because apparently they can't figure out how to access cert stores on other distros (not very inspiring).
