SPOILER: Virtue Quest Reward status

    In Release 17 we added some quests to Ardoris related to the Virtues (and Chaos). The reward for this quest chain was a Virtue statue and a Chaos statue. Our intent was for these quests to be a permanent fixture in the game, not temporary like the Grand Tour. Due to an unfortunate series of miscommunications this reward was flagged as an account reward (like the Grand Tour hats) versus a normal quest reward. The system for account rewards is meant to be used solely for items that have a limited time availability (like the Grand Tour hats). It is not meant to be used for items that will be part of the game on an ongoing basis. So starting with Release 18 these items will no longer be account rewards. This does mean that you will have to recomplete the quest lines after each wipe (just like every other quest). Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience.

    So to clarify:

    A) This means that the items will not show up in the account of anyone who completes this quest starting with R18 who had not completed it in R17, and those who completed it in R17 will have them permanently moving forward...


    B) Everyone, regardless of whether or not they completed the quest in R17, will have to do this quest every time in order to get the trophy rewards, and they will no longer show up in the accounts of users who have completed the quest as of the end of R17...

    Took ages to get all the books:/ Cannot we get some items account bound even though there are wipes and the quest can be doen again?

    Maybe consider making a new pathway to prove your virtues with each wipe. Rather than seeing different parts of the world, one could experience different scenarios to prove worthy of the item.

    Bummer. I wish the players that DID take the time to complete it, thinking it was an account reward, would get to keep it that way and it just changed to a regular item for people completing the quest moving forward. But, a mistake is a mistake. At least we all know where all the books are now! :)

    Might do it one more time before the final release - just see if the bugs get fixed. Like do those books look like books now? Or will both guards open the gates this time or do we have to get the right guard on the right still? :rolleyes:

    Yeah when I got the message that the item had been added to my account. Sorry the fun part of the quest has now gone......now its just run around for an hour and pick up books that respawn; if I had known it was a quest for the main game launch I wouldn't have done it. So now not only is it not fun; it has taken away some of the fun from the launch.

    Something tells me that the players who don't like spoilers may not know that they lose the statues until the next release lol.

    What would be cool is if they left these as account bound and available for this release and make the real ones a slightly different hue :D

    Ok, so a few things.

    1. I don't like the quest.
    2. I don't like the rewards.
    3. I only completed the quest because they were account bound rewards.
    4. Now that they're not account bound rewards, I'll need more motivation to ever complete that quest again.
    5. I originally outsourced the completion of that quest to someone else, and just turned in the books for the rewards.
    6. I'm only saying this because I feel like it's valuable feedback. Make quests better, make rewards meaningful, ask yourself if these two things are really being accomplished.

    I agree with most of the above...with the exception that I liked the rewards. If the quest stays like this, I'll probably never do it again.
