So after madly running around trying to find a suitable spot for new and ominous looking Obsidian Tower, I thought I'd go back and try to deliver Edvard's notebook to Stanley the Guard in Soltown. Unfortunately, for the life of me, I could not. I met his delightful daytime/nighttime counterparts, but no Stanley...making me wonder, "Does he exist at all?"
He is near the rowboat as you enter town to the left. Opposite side of the path as those that are sitting by the tents. Do not go to the village at the center.
Too bad the other guards don't even know Stanley even exists... much less tell mere where he is even though he's supposed to be the captain of the guard. Now the bastard won't let me give him the notes he's been asking me about.
Stanley is right where you arrive at after Solace Bridge...actually he tries to get your attention when you arrive. When he asks if you have anything from Edvard, you just say "yes" and the quest is complete. He lets you keep the notes, saying it isn't anything they don't already know but that it might come in handy, if memory serves. EDIT: Then he gives you a letter to deliver to a guard captain in a larger city to the south, so there's more yet to do after that.
Not for me he didn't... when I said "yes" the first time he said "hmm" and the second attempt he responded with "if you say so"... Reminds of the old Infocom games where I'm trying to find the exact correct wording to trigger the next bit
yea its fun when you have two quests that say find x person in a metro size city (btw i did find both and yes it was a pain)
Stanley was recently added. @Lum will probably have to edit the dialogue for the other guards to mention Stanley now.
According to the text blurb given in-game after Solace Bridge we're pretty much looking at the skeleton of the entire scene and the final build's version will be much different, so, everything about that portion of the game will most definitely be more refined later on, and that would include Stanley.
