Maybe a good time to mention it, since you're adding street signs and runic letters all that the game.

We have some bronze signs in game meant to put on walls, but what I'm thinking of is something smaller and more versatile, like the placards that were in U7,

This would be to put on horizontal surfaces like display tables for museum exhibits to label whats being displayed and maybe provide some background information, or on vertical surfaces like bookshelves to label what types of books are on the shelf (history, magic, etc).

Mousing over the placard would provide the tooltip, of course.

Yes, please. Small bronze and wood plaques would be a great addition to libraries everywhere!

You mean you don't like having sheets of scraggly looking paper laid about everywhere? What's wrong with you.

Also, instead of a tool tip, clicking on signs, tombstones or anything could display something like this :

Given the fact that books and scrolls are already displayed like they were with Ultima 7, that would make sense.

Any clickable version would be great for teleport signs, also.
