New computer also been at this 9 hours but I was afk the 1st time it froze so that is not an accurate measurement. I got to 100% but the bar was not full and it kept going. Now patching resources assets *sigh*

 

I always keep a folder full of the incremental patches on another drive

Applying still takes forever, even on SSD, but at least you don't have to deal with their p2p

 

I left my PC running ALL day. Came back to see the SOTA Launcher alternating between 23 and zero kB/s and stuck around 48%.

Following Snazz' advice ( THANK YOU!! ) I'm getting up to 860 kB/s.

I don't expect I'll be using the SOTA patcher in the future.

Well the sad update here for me is that it finally got a burst of speed and got to patching up files, but 45 mins in the process is at like 0% cpu, the disk activity was 0% .. it had died.. so, having given it 45 mins to pick up, I took a hit and killed it.. its decideding to redownload the whole patch again now and yes, it is actually redownloading it not just counting through what it had before..

 

Oh ya. It creates a temp directory.

My SSD had 10 extra GB consumed during the application stage

 

Yes, thanks Snazz. I am getting 3 MB/s dl and will have it in less than 20 min.

 

Is there a way to swap to steam ? or some other method?

 

I'm fluctuating between 5-10 mps to 0 mps. @1% right now
