I' ve been missing something when talking to a fellow in game, and finally found what it is.

In Second Life, when you are writing in the chat window, your avatar performs a gesture like they are typing too, so that you know they are about to say something and helps conversation. Otherwise you see 'silence' from your counterpart, you don't know if they are done telling you something and if you should wait for them to finish their speech.
This typing gesture would look weird in SotA, but the avatar could move or pose somehow as if they were talking. If you haven't had this before, you may not know how much you are missing this feature :)

Not a critical thing at all. Just a suggestion.

Interesting idea. Avatars perform gestures when they talk. Can do that when you're typing instead.

Additional thought.. should probably only occur when typing in the /local channel. It would look weird to others when doing it in party or guild chat.. unless it's only visible to those in those chat channels and not to others.

For simplicities sake, if this were possible, any typing should apply. We can just assume that any trans-dimensional conversation being done by the magic of being in a party and guild would still require the avatar to actually speak. And people still gesture on the phone.

Edit: Or even just the three dots that consecutively appear on a loop, like in many popular messaging applications, appear over the avatars head.

How about the finger and thumb on the chin saying 'Hmm'.

Maybe just a hand partly out, gestured as if the person is getting ready to say something ?

But I wish the talking emote, the lips moving part, could be combined with other emotes, so you could talk while kneeling, talk while having your weapons out in a combat stance, etc.
