I'd give anything just to play this game for one more day...

Probably one of my favourite online games I ever played. The concept, the fictional setting, the game... it was incredible...

    :(

I have to say I didn't care for the story in the slightest.. but I did enjoy the game. I had a lot of fun.. had every class and they were all fun which I think says a lot about the class design and balance. I loved my level 50 engineer. Enough patience, caution and well placed turrets.. could really do some damage soloing some of those bases. :)

Agreed. The class design was great. What I loved was how many important/core engineering skills originated from the initial specialist role. So there was no need to balance your time around the MMO "Holy Trinity". You simply equipped and adapted your squad of friends to face a situation. Was one of the few MMOs that rewarded players for being innovative.

Another thing that really made an impression on me.. was the team seemed fearless. They weren't afraid to make changes post-launch. If something was out of balance they fixed it.. I can't think of any specific examples right now but keeping up with the patch notes (which were fairly regular).. they didn't just patch something over.. they made real changes.

I didn't care much for the tech support though.. but once you got past them the team responded. I think that is one of my fondest memories. That bane base in the mid-levels with the bane wormhole experiment that was buggy to high heaven? Yeah they thought they fixed it.. they hadn't. Reported it to tech support "that's been fixed" "no.. it hasn't.. I JUST went through it" "that's been fixed".. "no.. it hasn't.. I'm not a newbie here I know what I'm talking about.. etc etc etc" next thing I know I'm talking to a GM in-game and taking them through the area.. "yup.. it's not fixed"

Went through that instance a few times with and without that GM testing things out until it really did get fixed. :) Proud moment.. had to share. heheh but the point I'm making was the dev team was responsive. I was disappointed when I heard the game had closed. I never could understand why. People blaming RG and saying it was a bad game was also something I could never understand. Did any of those people ever play it? I guess it's the price you pay when your own name is on the cover.

I really liked the control pts / hot zones. GW2 reminds me of it. Its cool running through this Nightmare Tower and ... booom !!! A boss pops up and all hell breaks loose. Players band together to help each other out. Really enjoying my time back playing it, but I think Tabula Rasa's influcence should not be overlooked.

I played and enjoyed as well, from beta to the closing moment.
It may be dead for NCSoft, but it is not "entirely" dead. At some point in the future I may be able to elaborate more on what I mean by this.

I definitely feel like I missed out by never playing Tabula Rasa. At the time I had to make a decision between Tabula Rasa and Hellgate London, and I chose Hellgate London. Obviously neither game fared very well, but I still think I made the wrong choice.

I feel really sad about this. I loved Tabula Rasa and was shocked to hear that NCSoft cancels this. Today, it's totally rid out even from their history. They seem to avoid all and everything about this fine game like it would never happen. Furthermore, they keep it like a dragon sit on his treasure and let it rot.

I would love to play Tabula Rasa again - from the setting to the gameplay - it was one of the best.

Sadly I was traveling a lot for work when that came out and I wasn't playing online games because hotels are very spotty for internet connections, and I was working long hours.

Same here -Hellgate had a great premise (I really liked the back-story), but poor execution. I had hoped both games would fare well, but it wasn't to be. :(

Remember when net guns did their entire damage output every tick? For that brief moment being able to solo anything was probably one of the coolest moments in my gaming history (other than anything UO related heh)

Saddly no. I've only got 1 screen floating around my computer somewhere and it's not very exciting.
