Why taming? It's more practical to make sausage with your pets

I'm really looking forward to it too. It was my favorite stretch goal that we reached. I have my concerns about how it's been described so far, because you need a tailor to make the collars, and an alchemist to enchant the collars, then you need the taming skill in forestry. But hopefully it wont be too difficult/painful to accomplish. As long as the effort/reward is balanced I'll be happy.

I'm really curious about what type of tamable creatures we will have. We've debated dragon taming a bit already, as long as they can balance it I see no issue. But others believe dragons shouldn't be willing to associate ever with a human. (even an avatar).

I figure if your tamed combat pets add slugs (blanks) to your deck it can balance out nicely. so a small cat pet might give you 5 blanks, a dragon will give you 40. The counter to that would be locked skills, so that requires balance as well. Maybe a dragon reduces your maximum locked skills by 4 out of 5 possible (leaving you with only 1 locked skill, and 0 if you aren't trained up to 5)

It was a stretch goal listed in the KS campaign and there have been reward items to tame specific animals.

Yea i kinda like to tame and then use them to farm :p but i liked the stats part of your pet i mean training him up to be gm, As for if i need a guy to make me a collar or what ever to tame i don't like that id. i mean if you use the collar to help train or to make it bond to you that's OK but to have to have it to tame, i thank would be a bad id, i wanna tame .

I believe that is a reference to the UO speech commands used to tell your tamed animals to attack something.

I vaguely remember using it myself back in the day. :)

taming would be a nice addition to the game, as would pet killing, reguardless if the player has PVP enabled or not, all tamed pets should be attackable

Why should all tamed pets be attackable? If they aren't bothering you and their owner isn't bothering you (i.e. they aren't in PVP mode), why are you going to go out of your way to attack them? That's a heck of way to wreck someones day, especially if they are really attached to their pet and/or spent a really long time taming it.
