Yeah that is a shame since I just did a bunch for offline quest bugs that should be fixed before the story reset.

All things considered, it probably would have been a better idea to announce that you guys were suspending the program as of like 2 releases from now, as opposed to "the rewards last release were the final ones. Surprise!"

I'm getting a strong sense of deja vu here...

One thing that was brought to my attention is that this program is "Suspended until further notice"...not "Cancelled".

There is a possibility that it may resume at some point and these rewards might get distributed again. :D

Because of the process I moved from reporting bugs to just giving feedback and hoping for the best.

I think the reasoning is that everyone has access to the QA server now and this may help stave off a lot of poor reports. And also... why work for 2 more months in an environment that is getting sub-par bug reports if they feel suspending the program may yield a more productive schedule for staff?

I know you do not, my point was that dedicated member of Bug Brigade should have good knowledge of bugs that were submitted so far, they should work as intermediate agent between average joe, who just want to report pink texture or broken spell and devs who want to see some list of unique bugs in predetermined format. Forum sucks for bug reporting, but Bug Brigade (to my knowledge) was supposed to bridge the gap between people reporting what is broken for them and devs who needed properly formated each unique bug.

It should be easier for one or two persons to know their subforum very well than for everyone who wants to report bug to go through each subforum they want to post bug in. I know you cannot do something special (well, when it comes to forums anyway), but you should be rewarded for spending more time going through the forums rather than playing the game, but for the same reason you should be able to tag duplicates fairly quickly and filter out important new stuff.

I asked it before, but I'll ask it again:

What happened to the Bug Brigade, and why isn't that group being used to take the load off of Port? I haven't heard anything about it in a while. When I applied and was turned down (because apparently there were a lot of volunteers) I was told that they would likely have another call for help later. As @Net said, a couple people in each category should be able to handle duplicates. Maybe the Bug Brigade could get access to a Jira instance so they could more easily check for dupes.

Let's be realistic, would you bet on how many really incomplete or useless bug reports were submitted just to get the rewards?

part of me would like to believe it was only actual bugs that counted towards the goal, not just posting "this is broke" and being no more helpful.. but I would guess plenty of vague ones were posted in hope of reward

We use a tool at work that does a similarity check for new knowledge articles against the existing knowledge base. It has saved us so much time. I think this plugin would be a good idea.
