Testing Incentives Program

For people that are really serious about wanting to test on QA, but don't want to spend $550 just for that right, I'd encourage you to consider finding a buyer for the Tax Free POT only deed before you buy the bundle. Then you'd be getting $350 back immediately from the bundle (current rate they sell for in the marketplace) ...and I'm sure the majority of the other swag (houses, special containers, etc) that comes along with it could be sold off piecemeal to make your actual cost for access somewhere closer to $0-$50.

This I am sad to say is true but being a long time RG fan I had to play. Give it a try for a few years but I do play UO Second Age and a BETA in CU.

 

I'm not sure what the problem is here. People still get incentives for helping test on the live servers with any account. People get extra incentives for additional testing on the QA server which has a threshold of a dev+ account.

ALL of the pledge rewards work this same way. It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. If you want a map pack you have to pledge at a certain level; if you want a German beer recipe you have to pledge at a certain level; if you want to play on the qa server you have to pledge at a certain level.

Should Port start handing out castle deeds to everyone too? Lol!

This is my 1st pay to play game but since it is not into release I am looking forward to changes that are coming. Nah I have never been much for participation trophies and would rather work for what I get.

 

I have friends with the $45 package with lots they bought with ingame cash and more cash then some LoTM as well as a lot of pledge items they bought in game

 

I put out the money I decided I could afford which included a tax free lot (village) tax free vendor plus a few pledge items. Lets hope lots of people like this game and decide to join we need a lot more. I am satisfied (mostly) with what I have. Crafting table prices were a jolt but I complained so am satisfied

 

Speaking of bugs, can we get some monster bugs in game? Like giant ants, centipedes and wasps?

 

Perhaps the Devs would consider adding a Dev+ upgrade as an individual purchase on the add-on store. I'm interested in Dev+, but there's no bundles that I want.

Probably would be sporting of them to allow access to anyone with >$500 spent in the store, or whatever is above the lowest Dev+ pledge (doesn't include me). Would Dev+ pledgers have a problem with others getting in that have spent at least a little more than the lowest Dev+ bundle? Might stimulate more smaller purchases knowing that it all adds up to a Dev+ access.

 

Just because you have lots of money, does not mean you'll be best at bug reporting things.. open up the rewards to all. I have a lot of bug held back so far... and counting.

 

Dev+ isn't just about chasing down bugs on QA.

Dev+ was supposed to be a closer communication with Portalarium when it comes to game design and things of that nature. The idea was that the Dev+ group would be smaller and there would be less noise to sort through with regards to certain discussions. If you open up Dev+ to everyone then that goes away.

Omg - funniest obvious true post ever! Once a government get's a socialist bent it's never going to stop giving bigger and bigger subsidies and gifts to keep the masses happy.

For Shroud...I do wonder when the Elven/Kobold/Viking/Llama-style Castle and Keep Bundles will be sold! And when will those Keep and Castle POT Only Taxable Deeds will be duely added to the Lottery/Raffle.

So, reporting a bug to assist in the development of the game is taboo if you don't get a special prize? I find that attitude unfortunate.

 

If I understood mister Fister's objection is to gifts being given to anyone for the reporting of bugs. So he's opting out of reporting bugs in protest. I understand the sentiment, but I will report bugs that I find in the limited time I spend/waste on QA.

Probably posted a little more than yourself, sir. No worries, there's thousands of bugs still, and they won't miss my reports. I just hope the dev+ testers in line for the decent prizes know the game as well as I and many others with no dev+ access do. They should not have dangled special prizes after it all, frankly. Doesn't matter really. I will get my ant farm a different way.

 

Ahhh, so the protest is QA Bugs get rewards and Live Bugs don't....yes that does seem unfair.

But that's a half truth. Live testers get rewards too. They just can't get the same ones as dev+. It functions just like every other reward tier.

 

I was enjoying bug reporting too.. ah well.. I won't worry about it (and now I can just play!).. but I do understand now how things sometimes go around here.. :$
