    One of the new items that drops is called the Ankh of Sacrifice which is a bludgeon weapon. It give + 50 life attunement + 2 focus per second regain and cost 200% basic reagent use. It can be dual wielded. :)

    400% basic reagent use if dual wielded. That's a lot of gold per cast!

    17? New drops added with r38. Low % chance that gets higher with mob difficulty. Ive found 2 so far (not this one). One in the rise and one in deep ravenswood. Look up the artifacts thread by Corp Por and the potion thread by Duke Avery.

    Maybe i should equip one now too as an Melee/Tank instead of an shield to fix the combat focus regen rate....

    You should start reading the release instructions that are posted on the main website and in the announcements forum every release.

    I read them. But when most articles talk about crafting recipes and addon store items, I kind of tune it out.

    The only reason I ask is because I'm genuinely surprised that it's a thing considering the game does abolutely nothing to communicate it through gameplay.

    This is good news. I now wish it was better implemented.

    Good point. Will consider how we can better do this in game. Perhaps having NPCs chatter about new content like this when we add it. So they could start talking about rumors of new magical artifacts to be found. Maybe rumors in the taverns?

    Could also do it through MOTD but that's less immersive

    @DarkStarr, I think that would be an awesome idea to add it to NPC dialogue when new content comes out, maybe even the town crier! I think the town crier could be utilized in so many more ways then the limited capacity now.

    What about to add these "news" to papers and books? players could find great information about new things in New Brittania discovering new books/papers in dungeons, npc towns, etc. This feature can also be useful for future new emotes, titles, xp, etc (similar to the books system in Elder Scrolls Online).

    Having various NPCs share rumours about ANYTHING new in the game would be fantastic. The taverns are reasonable locations to do this both from a gameplay and a workload standpoint.

    An alternative (for items) would be to introduce the concept that "cool loot" can drop in the low level areas. I don't necessarily need to know exactly what can drop, but constantly looting rusty daggers and shoddy bows is working against this. My sense of wonder when it comes to loot is nonexistent.

    The new locations and unclones that being done are so fantastic. it will take reasons to go there after the beauty wears off and as @DarkStarr and to share ideas with @Lum the Mad @the devs Lord Bristish2 mentioned things need to be in place in the game to visit all of the areas.

    Not just resources but achievement system to set goals, quest lines, rewards, discoveries, boss fights, different fish needed for a quest and for recipes (can you say fishing quests;),(which you can purchase from other players as well), a lot of fun would be treasure maps, gotten from finding and message in a bottle from fishing them up, resources unique to the area and even reoccurring quests for the whole world.

    We really will need side quests and repeatable quests and achievements to keep people visiting areas imo. Then the things that will connect the world too like NPC town bulletin boards to see what is happening where. ;)

    Yes! That would be a great reason to hang out at inns and taverns again. Perhaps this info can be conveyed not just through direct conversation, but via the barks from just about any NPC that might/should know such a thing. I'd expect some info is region-specific too -- at least until you implement SmackTalk for NPCs (social / knowledge graphs tied into schedules, AI and convo). ;)

    When we first log in, prior to character selection and entering the game, the log-in screen itself could contain a news item element that is updated with patch notes, release notes, and other notable information. That same element could be voluntarily brought up in-game via Escape menu option.
