No jewelry in for me .. over 3000 casts as that is the amount of worms I've used.

Perhaps i'm fishing in the wrong locations?

 

As I mentioned in my post earlier I fished mine up in Ardoris - although I dont think location matters much currently. Mine was found in a canal, not out in the river/sea area nor at a hotspot - just a regular canal. Ardoris is a good location to level up fishing as you can run along the canals and cast all day long (as long as your fishing level is high enough to cast that far), then butcher, and sell your fish all in one area. I did notice the water effects have changed(for the better) and the roaming schools of fish seem gone. I am not sure if the loot percentages have changed much. I am a GM in fishing and I have only caught one ring.

I GM'd fishing with some 6000 bait and no jewelry. I will continue searching. Remember to wear your luck ring

I think the ring should give a better bonus, like +5 Int at least (crafting ones gives +4 stats or higher), or maybe add an special bonus, something unique would be nice.

 

It can take a very, very long time to get one.

Ive gotten 5 now.

 

The stats of the ring are awfull.....but the ideally worth is not to underestimate.

I grandmastered in fishing and had no idea there were Rares like the ring and necklace.. haven't even fished up a pearl yet. My specialty seems to be cloth boots.

 

I actually outfited my character with fished up gear on the release before persistence. I think I did wind up using my Pilgrim hat just to fit the part better .

I would love a rare fishing hat complete with hooks, bobbers, lures, etc.

Also, check out the Pax ring. It has +30ish bait recovery. I found mine on a vendor.
