Just finished the book, all I can say is wow. It was a very good book. How many of you have read the book and what do you think?

Any word on when the next one will be out?

There are two more coming out. No word on when though. :)

Plus Tracy Hickman is writing a spin-off about the Vertas Elves for Underworld Ascendant.

Speaking only for myself, I absolutely loved it. I read the .pdf version that I bought here and the "extended hardcover edition". They were a fun read for sure. :)

The prose isn't great, but the characters are lovable! The storyline is classic rebel vs empire with a main caught in the middle (star wars/lord of the rings/etc) and I like the novel's take on that premise. It says a lot about the savage inclination toward conquering in the name of establishing global peace, and the pitfalls of avarice and tyranny; a common thread through written history. The great thing about this fictional universe is that it is living and interactive as we have an interface (the game) with which to experience it.
