My view: The problem is that this game is pushed more and more into the direction of a generic MMORPG.
At first the plan was to not have health bars but now we have them - just like in any generic MMO.
Then the interface was planned to be minimal with very few information, no floating numbers, texts etc. Now it looks more and more like a modded WoW interface...
The plan was to have one character slot only, now we have more etc.

For me the things that would have made SotA unique and stand out of the crowd of (MMO)RPGs are cut and removed from the game to make place for generic MMO features.
But when you take a look at how "successful" such generic MMOs are nowadays then SotA seems to be digging it's own grave...

You think removing a promised feature will somehow not be a debacle?

Ah. It's greed that drives you.
For a second i thought you had a serious proposal to make.

He expressing how he personally values various items. They may differ from your personal valuations. How is being compensated for something you already paid for, greed?

The government comes to take your house, don't you want fair compensation? Are you going to accept their valuation, or push for your valuation?

Yeah but that's not what is happening.
What is happening is that HE WANTS the government to take his house.

No he's just suggesting fair compensation in exchange for character slots. Anyway the OP can speak on that but that's my interpretation of his post.

Fair compensation for something nobody wants to take away from him except himself.
    So...why compensate?

A Town lot that was previously the main portion of a $1,500 pledge in turn for a bonus that he thinks isn't necessary in the $275 pledge.

That isn't a suggestion of fair compensation. Furthermore he suggests a row lot isn't enough which means he expects at least a village lot per character slot.

Really, this thread isn't reasonable and it is trying to address a problem that doesn't exist.

It was free because, as some have noted already, it was an unplanned bonus added to pledges after they were already paid for.

Ummm ..... I bought my account after the multiple character slots were part of the pledge. And I'm not alone. You should understand that people paid money for these slots and have an economic RIGHT to them.

You should also understand that there's middle ground to giving a developer carte blanche and forgoing your economic rights, and treating the developer like a "slave boy." Pffftt. RG would be the first among all of us to recognize that healthy debate is beneficial to the game. When you resort to hyperbole, you cheapen the value of the discussion.

You may not agree with the OP, but the post was offered in the spirit of a solution. Whereas characterizing the OP as, "I didn't realize it was, "Here's some cash, now do what we say, slave boy"" shows how panicky you are about this issue.

Not in my case, and not in many others. Facts are inconvenient aren't they.

I don't understand the point you are making. I pledged after the slots with shared name and reputation were already part of the pledge. I saw what I was getting, weighed the pros and cons and made my decision to pledge. What facts are inconvenient? *puzzled*

I'm not really sure I understand the purpose of your combative and rude attitude.

    Got a solution:
Make the slots as tradeable tokens.
    Don't want them? Sell them.
Market will show what they are worth.

You're right, that was unnecessarily combative, and I apologize. The point of my post is that you and others have repeatedly said the slots were an "unplanned bonus added to pledges after they were already paid for" and that is simply untrue for many of us.

@Kara Brae hopefully this addresses your post above. You and I are in the same boat.

Well Although I understand your position budner, and you may be right that they probably cannot go back on it now, but they definitely do not need to go further in changing this. For one thing I backed this game as a single char slot, and they changed it, should I be compensated in some way?

well just for reference, if they start selling extra char slots in the add on store, which they have talked about, then that will be what they are worth.
