The Elegant Pirate (An Introduction)

Boris Mondragon grew up in the main orphanage in Britain, a town in a far away land called Brittania. In his earliest recollection from childhood he remembered learning carpentry and tailoring. All the children prepared for their sixteenth birthday when they would go out into the world. Those over age 12 were allowed to help the City in different ways and Boris took the opportunity to help in the docks repairing the sails and decks of various ships. At that time a small sleek ship called a sloop caught Boris' attention and there he spent several years volunteering on it. He learned much about ships, and the crew taught him the ways of sailors which helped Boris in obtaining a scholarship to the Britain Shipping academy. At age sixteen he entered the academy and spent the next two years learning everything required to become an officer. Boris was a serious student who earned many accolades from the staff and also much envy from the other academy students. They came from rich families with known pedigrees could not fathom an orphan who was the top candidate in academics, leadership and Sword fighting. They also despised Boris because he caught the eye of the Commanding Officer's daughter named Erica who took every opportunity to visit the academy and start conversations with him. A scandal erupted on graduation day,It was on graduation day and Boris was not allowed to graduate for "integrity issues" as the Commanding Officer assumed that prohibited fraternization had occurred between Boris and a his daughter. The students laughed and jeered as Boris was escorted out of the academy and back onto the streets of Britain. He looked back at the academy vowing they would pay for their wrongdoing and the dark label placed on his orphanage. Boris was fortunate in that the Phantom was happy to have him back as a crew member. This is where the adventure begins.
