My bags don't look like yours, why is that? also where did all your recipes come from? I can hardly make anything.

@TheMadHermit - excellent work mate. Keep it up and I'm sure you'll get even more followers from us SotA fans.

With regards to crafting I have a few observations and suggestions for improvement which could be good to discuss with the community. I'm hoping the developers will see this and take it into their consideration for next updates. I am fully aware that we are in PreAlph mode, however, the intention with my comments is to improve the game and make it more user friendly which hopefully will lead to more people playing the game.

    1. Currently there's no ingame crafting menu. This should be instated as it will make the life of a crafter easier, and I assume the intention isn't to have us automatically remember 50+ different receipts.

    2. Crafting one item at a time. An option should be instated to be able to craft more than one item. With smelting as an example it would be beneficial if crafters could smelt ore in bulk. Having to smelt one at a time is very time consuming and won't benefit with anything.

    3. Once an item is crafted it should be possible to drag all items from the crafting station to your bag. Current setup is to drag each item one at a time = time consuming.

    4. Crafting receipts - the current overview of receipts in a book is not providing the best of overviews. Maybe this could be done differently and better?

    5. A crafters guide, tutorial or help menu would be beneficial to have ready for Go-Live. For example, for smelting the mandatory items to use each time is coal, tongs etc. This is valuable information especially for new players.

I know the developers are doing a lot to improve the crafting in SotA and I really look forward to next release in May. Let me know if you have similar observations or comments to the above.

Is there a way to craft using the list inventory really don't like the bag option and don't seem to be able to make this work using the list option?

If you have the boxed checked for list inventory in options/game then you should still be there when you start crafting.

Currently, the most up-to-date R26 recipe list to which I am aware : http://ode-guild.com/?page_id=353

There are a number of errors, but once you know the recipe patterns you can figure out the proper ingredients/tools. :)

Do you know if something changed with R27 that requires you to buy the recipes now versus being able to just load the proper ingredients and hit craft?

You don't need a recipe to craft, just need proper ingredients. Once someone take it for the team and buy a recipe, then no one else would need to pay for the recipe if the person is willing to share.

You should not need to purchase the recipe before-hand.

Do make sure you are using the up-to-date ingredients and tools though... The devs are constantly updating the recipes with each release, and whatever you are using as a knowledge-base may be out of date. :)

sotacraft.com is very up to date

    Yes things changed.

Your recipes went away that used the wrong tool on a crafting station.

i.e socketing a gem used a hammer on the alchemy table. Since the main tool equiped for that table is the mortar & pestle that is now required instead of the old hammer recipe.

Same with a smithing hammer on a smelting station. Tongs are now required.

At the moment the appropriate tool for the table is the correct option.

I think my issue was using an old recipe. I've mostly been doing PVE and some minor gathering. I think the wife and I will try some serious gathering/crafting over the next couple days. I've been just buying new weapons as mine wore out and that's putting a major damper on gold stores. :)
