I like the creepy, 18th century new england vibe. Feels like witchcraft in them woods!

Hey guys! SorcerousSteve here once again to give you an update on the town of Brookside!

An abandoned manor once a luxurious estate now lies in ruins, a remnant of the undead overrun.

    Wretched Man's Bog
A foul smelling, dank, wet bog located to the North of Brookside.

Abandoned buildings litter the outskirts of Brookside, past signs of the undead overrun , meanwhile wheat fields and wind turbines show signs of a town rebuilding and struggling to move forward.

For those of you wishing to live in a spooky foggy atmosphere, where the fear of the undead overrun looms close, the town of Brookside is the perfect place for you!

A few dead bodies float on the Northern bank of the swamp, signs of the looming threat of the undead.

    Hey @SorcerousSteve
just visited Brookside. While the fog and everything is awsome i have got a small question: is it there 24/7?
Because with lower graphic settings it's a perpetual twilight. While the effect is cool for the time being, it's rather annoying when its there all the time.
And with lower settings the range of view isn't anything near the range of view on your pictures. It's maybe 1/2 - 1/3.

Thanks to the bug with rifts and sieges, I (and a few others) were, um, introduced to Brookside over the past few days.

Absolutely brilliant. The creepy factor was dialed way up with all the architecture decay and fog, and doubled down on by the Sotamap being turned wrong (the website map, since in-game map isn't working right in QA), and less than 10% of the lots being claimed. It was visceral. I wanted to get out so badly (too cheap to use a Recall scroll, but others didn't even have that option!), yet I was stuck there until I could find that damn rift. I was constantly amazed that it never let up, it was almost like being trapped in a horror movie, and I don't even care for the genre.

Two thumbs up! (tied to some kind of torture device, naturally)

And then I spent a couple of hours wandering through Blood River Outskirts. Another beautiful place. (aside from that one ground texture all over the place) I definitely received a bulk order of immersion yesterday.

Like @Elwyn I revisited Brookside for the Lunar Rift. It is indeed very scenic, although too misty. Mists in the morning or at night are ok. But at bright daylight when the sun casts shadows the mists should dissolve or the effect at least become weaker. As nice it is to walk through a spooky New England scene, the weather should change sometimes :)

I can picture gothic manson looking buildings here. To me the striped row homes look a little out of place imo.

Solution: gothic row homes! (then make that the default model)

    Love this town!

It has so many places to fish but no bubbles spot, or maybe I have not found it yet! Town is huge :)

Found the floating corpse with the letter, and seen 2 wisps on riverbanks.
