The Making of Solace Bridge Outskirts

Sounds good. If it wasn't already in the plans, I would suggest also adding an NPC banker to the outskirt scenes... with a short demo on how to store things, teach them that bank storage is town-specific and not global, and also show them how to claim any rewards and add-on store items.

The only caveat here would be whether or not they will ever be able to return to the scene again? If not, then those that miss the hints and put things in there might not be able to retrieve them again. Perhaps the banker should be at the scene exit if this is the case so they can grab everything before they leave for good.

 

That is most excellent. When R40 comes out and the complaints roll out I will use this (cut and paste) to try to reason and rationalize with the person why things were kicked back and the importance of the NUE. My guess is that I'll see it more on Redit.

 

This sounds fantastic. One question on this. So can we get to the player or can they get out of these starting areas? For example a backer friend I have who left the game some time ago wasn't wanting to come back to the game during this development stage, but wanted to place his house. It was the most difficult thing to get him out of the starting area and he had little patience with it. I could not just go get him. Even though I had lots more patience than that myself, some do not. So just asking.

 

Yes it is an open scene but they will still have to go through the solo starting scene first so this would not have solved your particular situation.

Love the look of the scene.
As we have seen fields already in different scenes...are they handmade or is it some kind of template? Just asking because some similar decorations for agricultural PoTs would be nice.

Each one's it's own unique flower, just terrain sculpting/painting + whatever type of crops we want on top. Hmmm farm PoT template... Will pass this idea on.

 

I like the new screen shots. If I were a new player exploring this game for the first time, I can see myself spending some time here.

 

Gorgeous scenery. I love the balance of types of trees.

 

This is some great work and I love the scope and feel of the Solace Bridge Outskirt scene. For certain I will need to go there and find a good fishing spot and greet new Avatars.

Will many more scenes get added or modified to become large unique scenes like this before release?

Or do you plan to keep the small scenes like South Brightbone Woods? That is the scene I spent most of my time when I was going to one skull scenes.

If these small scenes can be made larger and unique, then that would increase players interest to explore and try different scenes. It will add depth to all user experiences as they quest and explore this continent of Novia.

Any chance of getting 10 gold or 10 silver ore per visit for a new player? If they do the scene twice they could try masterworking or enchanting one time? Can spread the nodes out so it's not worth the rest of us farming it?

I hope these scenes get some of all the mat nodes.
