I mildly disagree. I preferred the old design. But since I don't care too much about design I only would like to point out that it doesn't seem to be optimised for mobile use.

Yeah, I have to rotate my phone to get to the forum link, so that isn't good.

Why keep the same old layout for the website?
We still have to scroll 2-3 Screens to see the News/Updates, because of the Ads and the SotA Youtube clip.

Do we really need 2 "Play for free Ads " on the main top page?

Yep doesn't work properly on my phone either - hopefully it's "work in development" (as always)

Thanks for the feedback. There's more to come and things to be tweaked (e.g. colors that post authors used manually that don't work well with the new templates) and fixed (e.g. mobile which indeed doesn't work well on some devices), but a first step is made. Layout changes are also in discussion.

Yep, half the page on the left is trimmed off for me on mobile at 4k in portrait mode.

    My humble opinion:
    + cleaner, more modern
+ still no fancy annoying animations
+ top bar is clean and nice, good font too
    - I did prefer the lighter background color, now its pretty dark
    - too many bright sales. If you are a new user you get overloaded with neon signs for sales, play free, rewards, etc.
this part needs a clean up
    - the livestream frame gets an overlay "watch now" which hides the text

Confirmed (at least on iOS), and bug entered - sorry to not have noticed this before pushing it. Will try to fix asap. Should only affect the landing page, though, right?

Thanks for the feedback - can you be more specific about the "bright sales"? Not sure I understand. Maybe that's a hint at the website content folks here, not the actual templates? Also, I didn't touch the livestream frame, maybe that changed on Twitch's side?

Also thanks for the + on "no fancy annoying animations"! I agree and prefer some snappy usability over stuff like that, for sure.

That is not a feedback on the template, but about the current page content and its a little bit hard for me to explain.
Mainly I miss the headlines which are visible below e.g. for the updates or the limited sale. Below there is an explaining text and then the picture.
But below the Live Stream you have just 4 advertising pictures for Bundle Expirations, Signed Box Sale, Play for free and Rewards Program
There is no headline, no separator, just the 4 pictures calling up bad memories from early internet days where you had no content, just bright pictures.
I propose to add a headline "Sales" and remove the play for free (as its listed in the top right corner again)

    I'm conflicted about the changes:

    Pros:
    * Easier to read
    * Top bar great

    Cons:
    * Seems like half a dozen other sites I've been to lately
    * Color scheme doesn't really fit the feel/theme of the game . When I think SOTA, I think mud, paper D&D, paperback fantasies... this feel more dystopian future
    * The banner adds will need to be redone/toned-done on the darker background. Worked on the light paperish background, but completely overwhelming on the dark background

This is what you get if 90% of the internet uses the same CMS (Worpress) + bootstrap

On PC Win7 Firefox the mainpage https://www.shroudoftheavatar.com/ does not scale to window size of browser

Zoom = 100% and reducing the width results in no narrowing text and only moves it to the left until its outside the reachable browserwindow (scrolling not possible)

Main pic with Titleand all three avatars: Shroud of the Avatar is shown over all avatar faces and at the bottom under the feet is pic-place "wasted" - not really relevant
=> so shift the avatars down so you can see them in full height and the titel over their heads

also login and register are pushed into the main menu if reducing the width of the browser window(in former times they were above) and the main menud item can't be clicked anymore (e.g. Store)

Thanks - it's responsive for certain widths, but yes, a minimum resolution is assumed. I'll say to add support for even smaller widths.

About the banner/sales stacks: yes, this is content that needs to be adapted to this new template, I agree. There are probably many older posts with content that uses images and text colors, etc. that also won't render nicely on these redone templates.
Give us a few days and we'll clean up what we can.

It looks nice! Are you planning on continuing the new color scheme/look to the Forum pages as well?
