Ive got no problem with it. Allow anyone to "catch" anyone who is int he act of stealing and let'er roll. Would give folks some purpose behind looking for folks to kill in a town. Its the damn resource prices that are the real thieves. Unless your buying fromt he desolis public vendor ;) Some real reasonable prices on ore and gear there

This is a game breaker IMO - it killed the original UO and every other game that implemented this skill poorly!
I don't mind the skill but the PvP flag better be working!

It needs to be fixed or you're going to lose a huge portion of the population.

Relax, it will be fixed soon.

Sir EMP, you may just have a future with our organization, the <Thieves Guild>.

    ;)

I've played it since the beginning. I am that type of guy that would rather seek value in something, instead of complain about it. :)

Wow, you've been playing UO since you were 12? That's quite a feat in itself.

    Grats

I was 30 when it came out and played through 7 years, doubt I would have allowed my 12 year old to play that game ;)

LoL I always find it amusing to see how thin skinned people are concerning their digital booty. BTW this is not what killed UO. Maybe you could not handle it, but for the rest of us it was another fun level of player interaction... Lucky for you it will be fixed.

I'm not sure how that is a feat. I had a computer; it was a video game. I put the game into the computer. I play. I was a pretty bright child I suppose! I do have to say however: My deepest condolences to your twelve-year-old! :) I would regale my father with tales of my adventure in UO with my friends. He loved every bit of it. Talking to him about my (mis)adventures was part of the fun!
My older brother was in the beta; Watching him play made waiting for the game to release agonising! And get this (it's going to blow your mind): My younger brother started playing at the same time as me. He was TWO WHOLE YEARS YOUNGER, wow :O!

Been stealing stuff all day, it not always works with blues. Sometimes it seems not to work whatever I try. Still trying to find out what causes it.

When stealing from flagged people it flags myself PVP as it should.. stealing from blues if it works, doesn't flag me PVP.

I am sure it will be fixed so only flagged people can be stolen from. No need to be salty.

To add further fun to this bug..
It also appears that sometimes Items are duplicated when stolen and then ransomed back.
E.g. I paid my ransom, I received a duplicate "hand of Rofo", a second left coconut, and a second Pickaxe with True Bronze engravings in my backpack.

I haven't been PvP flagged since the Spring Telethon (giant butterfly) PvP event. (where the original "hand of Rofo" was generated.)

Do you guys want a rollback, cause this is how we get rollbacks :p

Edit: honestly, I have never seen a rollback!

The fun part is, we aren't in persistence yet.
Imagine if we were already in persistence, and peeps figured out that if you trade you pledge Gold crowns of obsidian for any other crown at the merchant then had two non-pvp theives sitting beside each other stealing back and forth, they can eventually create as many crowns as they want.

oh ... maybe they should have a hard core flag where a player can flag to be thievable? (something that even goes beyond PvP flaging) Then only those hard core players can have stuff stolen from. Also maybe only theft can occur in the inner part of shardfalls. Otherwise all others are totally protected from theft. Although a separate server for all thieves would personally make me much happier. Why should players who want to role play a pvper be subject to being robbed??? PvPers just want to have the game they want, and not be bothered with cruel theives who want nothing more than to just harass newbies, and steal from newbies all day long.

In any case I'm guessing they will fix the whole thing about non-pvp players getting robbed. Also the Reality Show for SotA is long over due. There really could have been a great one charting the process.

Good thing they nerfed the Player value for those crowns and potions too.

Theives just want to have the game we.. I mean they... want and not be bothered by the mean old pvpers who kill us for trying to earn a living wage.
