Time for a new video card

... it's always a game that pushes me to this.

I'm retiring the ASUS nVidia GeForce GTX 750 ti 2gig
with an ASUS nVidia GeForce GTX 1060 oc 6gig ROG-STRIX edition

I imagine with my standard 1080p displays I should be able to crank the graphics all the way to 11.

 

I've just upgraded to a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB too and now play maxed out with a very good fps.

 

What video card did you have before?
What resolution are you typically running SOTA?

I realize there are people running much higher resolutions than my 1080p screens (I run 2 matching make/model 1920 x 1080 screens). And many who have beefier cards. But I just don't want to blow too many Benjamins.

 

Interestingly, I also switched from the GTX 750 TI to a GTX 1080. Things run really well. Though the 1060 should run everything just fine.

You will definitely notice the difference!

About 2 months ago.

 

Previously an AMD Radeon HD 6570 with 2GB and was running fastest and the lowest setting so a welcome increase for me. I run just shy of 1980 x 1080 as I play maximised windowed mode.

 

Oh, man... the HD 6570. That is a huge jump for you. Right on, man. Truthfully I'm not hurting with the 750 ti... ASUS make pretty solid products and my system runs SOTA pretty solid at the moment... it's just that the 750 ti is my bottle neck at the moment. I'll have the 1060 in my hands in 48 hours.
