I also like the idea of reducing my travel time.
But wouldn't that reduce the traffic going by player vendors? Do we want that?
Are we ready to get rid of the small business for Britmart?

I just want to give a huge thank you for responding. The team DOES give amazing things with the zones and towns and I want them to succeed for the majority of us, and my heart is warmed knowing that communication on these issues is improving (for real...I don't know how to write this up without sounding too flowery and stupid so I'll just go with it) and that there is a possibility of making things better when they go a bit astray.

    +1

As a PoT owner who is decorating one of them for the first time, I can testify here that laying out the city and decorating it so dang time-consuming and expensive that I will *never * change it...lol. For example, rebuilding it from the ground up because I change the template, is so daunting a proposition that it ain't gonna happen. Ever.

At the risk of reading like a jerk, the game is not released and should not be held back from it's potential greatness out of concern for beta testers.

I personally don't think you sound like a jerk, but there is a balance between persistence with the way lot deeds were set up and making changes that enhance the game without nullifying the way they did lot selection AND keeping promises when the lot selections started about not changing things too radically when uncloning towns. Real money was spent on these lots that were chose when persistence started, and I see the greatest potential of this game coming from the effective communication between scene developers who have given a unique beauty to this game and the dedicated user base who can help them integrate functionality into these scenes. With proper communication, we will have the best of both worlds. Isn't that a big part of beta testing?

Fortunately, @DarkStarr has spoken! So let it be written, so let it be done :)

If you mean travel signs, Central Brittany could certainly use them.

EDIT: or at least a balloon ride system to get around town, not unlike the Ardoris gondolas. I thought we were going to get that, but it's still only between sub-Brits. And the boat on the dock doesn't go to Graveyard.

I noticed that street signs are placed in Westend, but they don't have any actual street names, nor do they support travel. It is my understanding that most cities/towns don't have street names yet. The only ones I know of are Owl's Head, Kingsport, and Central Brittany. (CB doesn't have them on SotAmap, but I remember seeing a street name map for it somewhere)

Westend is still a clone of the old version of Solania, which has named streets on those signs.

Or maybe Solania was a clone of Westend :)

LOL hilarious, I love Carl Sagan, especially this documentary. He used that cube to explain the ephemeral "fourth dimension" it's awesome! :)
