I went to gather some wood and ore last night, killed a bunch of spiders and wolves, and found some silver ore in with the iron I gathered. Great! However, as I was walking between forestable trees, I went too deep into the forest apparently.

Wow, those trees completely block sight. I couldn't see anything, not the ground, the sky, or even my own character! Without having a first-person view or compass, it was impossible to navigate. I eventually just picked a direction and ran... unfortunately, straight into a bear that ate me.

So... yeah. Navigational and camera options would be appreciated!

    Jayson I agree with you.

Combat and navigation is made that much more difficult when you can't see through the trees and were in 3rd person view. Will that be polished over in the next few releases? R5 or R6? Meaning when you get near a tree it should fade the tree.

Currently for example fighting spiders or bears in the canyon near the statues I couldn't see what was hitting me through the trees.

I agree. Also in very tight dungeon corridors a first person view would help.
If you could carry a compass (I mean, not a mysteriously everpresent GUI-compass, but an item that you carry with you in your inventory) that would also be great.

Depending on how far you go, the trees just get thicker and thicker until they form an invisible wall on the map.

It's a much nicer way to hit a wall (aesthetically speaking) than just running across a field and suddenly no longer be able to keep going in that direction.

Leave the trees alone :) they have done nothing wrong.

FPV would be handy, no doubt.
