Aye, they are! Now in game we have pet 'emps' which are the tamable variety, and then we can find 'imps' in the wild which are a bit more dangerous.

Other than the first image, I can't see any of the rest. Probably because of my poor internet from China.
Hopefully I can figure out a way to see them soon, but I appreciate the descriptions, I'm getting quite an image in my mind.. ;)

Miracle Dragon: You're not seeing the images on this thread? That SUCKS! Can you download from other sources if URLs are provided?

Here's another early Shroud of the Avatar character concept piece. This one is very steampunk! The half-mask was a Portalarium request, as was the non-symmetrical cape. Massive brass chemical contraption on the arm fed from the Etheric Synthesizer on the back. I probably should have put the extra canisters on the other leg for the left hand to draw and slap into the projector. I like how the "Iron Man" style palm-projector unit came out though.

You can see more of these early SotA concepts on this thread.

Here's some scientist concepts from the early steampunk version of Shroud of the Avatar. These are a more modern style of character. For some reason, I went full-on steampunk+science fiction on these two. There's basically no hint of medieval sensibility at all, and just a touch of Victorian. I do like these outfits, though they may not have been very suitable for SotA.

We're coming up on the last of the early Shroud of the Avatar character concept art. I really like the dude's outfit in this one, but the woman is embarrassingly bad. I was really flailing to meet the seemingly contradictory requirements.

The guy is very late-1700s, with knee-high leather spats. The woman is very Jetson's-on-crack despite the nod to Victorian hairstyle.
I can totally see some guy wearing this smoking jacket ensemble, but the woman, I don't know...

Uncolored early Shroud of the Avatar character concept art. I like how the radiant shirt is continued on his Jacket, and how the peacock-like gown creates an interesting silhouette. I'll start posting the few architectural concepts I did next. There's even some 3D images involved. Stay tuned.
    Enjoy!

If his outfit makes it in the game I would love to wear it as woman, but not hers. Just imagine how to get into this outfit.

Is it, like, a psychiatric disorder to be sexually attracted to drawings/cartoons?

Budner: I think your topic is more interesting! :D

Yeah, there are many cartoon characters I'm attracted to. I think some of it has to do with the idealization of everything that brings out the male protective instinct. o_O Then again, there's the strong women characters that are totally cool, and you know they could kick your ass in a second, but you don't care.

I just sit back and enjoy it.

Sindariya: Whoa, thought your post was my post, what with that huge picture! Yes, there's a lot of love for the guy's outfit! I never thought of it worn by a female. I think that could totally work. :)

Miracle Dragon: You got it! I was going for that Hunger Games/Jupiter Rising/Flash Gordon decadent society look. :D

Now I have to ask myself how I forgot to post THIS guy:

Here is my absolute favorite of the early Shroud of the Avatar character concepts. This gentleman has all the steampunk cool rolled into one outfit.
He's got the self-satisfied expression and casual stance that all empire-builders should have, in addition to the long coat and leather spats. And The Hat. The Hat is to die for.

Oh, yeah. This is really nice. I wonder if the armor shading should contrast more from the naked arm shading to elude to a difference in texture, but I do like the Greek-warrior feel of the piece.
His helm reminds me of General Kael from Willow. ;-)

Miracle Dragon: Thanks! :) I know what you mean, and if this was in a comic book the coloring would highlight the difference between breastplate and skin. But as black and white I perhaps should have lightened the arm a bit. o_O

Good call! Separated at birth? ;)

Here's another early Shroud of the Avatar concept piece back when I had no idea as to the size of city SotA would support! Major steampunk action here in this unfinished work.
