PC platform here means Windows, so it's a no-go right from the start.

You either write your software from the start for multiple platforms or you don't. Once it's written, it's generally too costly and time consuming to rewrite it in order to support Mac and Linux.

I'm really enjoying LoA right now. It felt like some of my first days logging into UO. People even hang out at the bank. <3

Indeed I remember their names, and not liking very much what they did... I remained with UO for a looong time on siege perilous, even if we had not even event moderators... it was the smallest population but most fun community, ever. Sure I started 4 freeshards and participated in many more, but I always came back to my siege perilous to relax and roleplay.

Nothing is going to top SotA for UO2. You can't have a UO without Richard.

UO2 is too broad of a subject. UO changed many many times over the updates.

IE: SotA can't be UO2 because it's not seamless.

The circle of nuh uh and uh huh's can go on forever.

Indeed, and many freeshards happened without Richard :p Which were subjectively more UO than UO :p

I feel like UO is the "real" UO2, it's changed so much since launch. I still poke in and have fun on Siege once in a while, especially with the new animal taming. They do keep expanding and there are fun things to do.

Aria looks promising. I plan on buying in when I get done with DOS2 (which at the rate I'm going won't be for a few months.) I don't know why people have to be so down on it here. I play UO and ESO on and off, why can't one play Aria and SOTA at the same time too?

What interests me (and what I judge) in an MMORPG is the caliber of the Stories/Quests, Characters/Dialogue, Combat and Dungeons.

Nothing I’ve seen from Legend of Aria shows any strength in any of these except for (potentially) combat... maybe.

Agree. I'm playing DOS2 with three friends in mp, having a blast rpg experience, and also playing SotA and Albion Online (these two casual atm). Also played ESO in 2014 and 2015 while I was testing SotA, diversity is always good.

The music for the first video at least was by the Grim Faeries

Their other stuff is really good as well.

Edit: 2nd video as well. Brings back good memories.

I played LOA a little bit here and there. They just shut down the servers the other day. I think they are really trying for the UO experience to resurface for players. I did like a lot of things I see they are doing for example skills and raising. I like that a lot. To me it definitely felt like a UO game in so many ways as mentioned.

The game is also not easy. Getting a lot in game for example is hard work, well for me soloing it was. Things that are 3 gold are expensive since they have copper, Silver, and gold and it has weight.

At this point to me the game felt dated and movement was pretty awkward to me, but it is still early. I really wish them well. It's way too early to judge it of course. When they bring testing back online then we'll know a lot more. ;)

As at least one game know trumpeted itself to be the spritual successor to UO then suffered a backlash sometime after it actually launched.

I've concluded that you won't really know that it is until much later in the development stage.

Till then I remain skeptical of such claims.

    (no I wasn't referring to SOTA ;))

I never played UO. I think I played Ultima on the NES for about 15 minutes. Maybe that's one reason it's easier for me to accept SOTA for the way it is.

can you list some RP Features the Games has?
can you sit down, smoke a pipe, make emotes, play an instrument for example?
