Welcome. I played Napa Valley for 12 years. Left about 4 years ago maybe more. I missed all the people as well and that is why I left.
Hope you will like it here, I do. Remember this game has a very long ways to go so be patient. In the meantime, build your character.

Welcome to New Britannia! I too migrated here from Britannia, Atlantic. I tended to be a bit of a hermit there so I doubt we have crossed paths. One thing I really like about New Britannia is that no one has the exact same name. I will be the only Rhiannon (no last name) in New Britannia. If you see me, say hello!

I remember a Rhiannon from Atlantic, back in the day. Did you live in a village called Elysium? Our hangout was a tavern called the Wandering Wisp.

That is a different Rhiannon and I've been asked that many times before. I started my life there in Moonglow, moved around and ended up way west of Luna (my main house was all the way at the end of the land on the Sea of the Abyss. I now have a house closer to Luna but still by itself. Was in a few guilds but nothing major. A bit of a loner for the most part.

Thanks for clearing that up. I was around for the first five years of UO, but that's ancient history.

What a wonderful thread of nostalgia. I miss UO so very very much. I was on Atlantic shard too. My favourite activity on the weekend was to go out and tame 10 horses/llamas, some pack horses, 10 ostards of various colours, 5 frenzied ostards, 5 drakes, 10 dragons, 10 white wyrms, and 10 nightmares. I'd line them all up in a magnificent display (in itself an eye-catching advertisement) at Britain Bank and I'd make a fair bit of gold out of it. Although I really just loved roaming the world and taming.

This was of course way way back before they nerfed taming and added in the taming control point system.

I also miss my collection of roses and the house I got to design and build towards the end of my time in UO. Building your own house was one of the best features of any game I've ever played!
Three best things about UO to me were build you own house, runebooks, and taming. :)

Welcome to Shroud of the Avatar, @Rothana !

Two out of three ain't bad. We have great housing in New Britannia. You can rent a room or be housed with a friend at first, if you like, and you will be able to craft your own house very soon, although you still need a deed to place it. Taming is a very fun skill here; look for some of the guides from specialists in the Resources section to get started in that.
