keep in mind that there are also a bunch of really short/small buffs from plain ingredients you can eat directly, like lettuce

Would be nice to be able to grow pecans and vanilla beans since those are only purchasable and not plantable. They can be purchased from the agriculture vendor in Etceter as an example.

Note, Pecans, Vanilla Beans, and Mustard Seeds cannot be planted because they are also a consumable giving a small food buff. I attempted to plant both using the glyph method and by interacting with a plot of dirt.

Currently in game we can find jugs of grape juice and apple juice. Can we possibly see recipes for those, and maybe a tomatoes juice added while you look at doing more with the tea leaves?

Possibly cocktails recipes using whiskey and/or wine as an ingredient combined with juice?

It seems like some good changes to the unicorn recipes overall, making the effort to harvest them more rewarding, even if I will miss the virtue alignment.

Are there plans for any virtue foods at all, or perhaps plans to emphasize virtue in other areas instead? (More sylvan weapons, armor, etc?)

Yes, there are also empty ceramic jugs that can be picked up. So potentially make them craftable as containers for juices etc.

regarding deco, a few new pieces of deco would cover a lot. one little pie for all the pot pies, one stew bowl for all the stews, one bowl for the five pet foods, one something for all the suprises: that recipe looks like it might be a handpie or dumpling?

DPS C-BLADED 3 Seared Swordfish Steak COOKING increased to 3 slots, changed to 20% whirling blades damage bonus, removed INT, added 75 focus

It could just be me but I don't use whirling blades because it takes so long to execute and having large numbers of mobs around you to hit to take advantage of this is unhealthy. Could this be changed to another skill?

regarding turkey meat: they spawn near the pyramid in blood river outskirts but nowhere else in game that i know of. they could be more places.

(i remember one early thanksgiving they replaced the chickens in downtown braemar with turkeys, just for that release. the sound gets a bit much in town centers.)

Looking at the rarity of some of the ingredients, while I love the idea of making the fire mage food based on rare ingredients, as fire mages can afford the most expensive foods, I feel that it is a bit excessively rare for fire mage and blade foods. Mososaurs especially, as they only drop twice a month are a bit too rare to be a food that occupies such an important market niche, if any.

Looking at the fire attunement food compared to the other foods, it seems that the fire mage food is the absolute rarest of all foods in game now. Ammonites are a rare drop, on par with rare trophy fish, 1/3 the drop level of uncommon fish like cod, carp, trilobite, anomalocaris, sunfish, etc. - and all the other magic tree base attunement foods use a common ingredient, conversely earth magic T3 food uses trilobites which are the most common lava fish drop in game.

I would recommend considering this shift so that fire attunement foods can be made as readily available as other attunement foods as I fear that the level of "feed the tribe" bonus that would need to exist for all three of these fish to make them something that is possible to stock at a reasonable price would be insane without significantly increasing the drop rate.

Here is what I am talking about and how I would recommend shifting to balance drops a little better:

Relative level of effort needed to obtain ingredient:

Common - Can be farmed/bought indefinitely with little to no effort
Uncommon - Takes a little gathering effort, but no practical limit
Rare - Takes a focused gathering effort
Legendary - Is a S tier gathering job

      • DPS MR-CRIT_DAM 2 Corpion Cutlets
      • DPS MR-CRIT_DAM 3 Scorched Mosasaurus (2 drop per month)

      • New Food: Turkey and Sinew Chewies - push out to a forthcoming new pet food or later additional strength food; will allow more time for turkeys to be integrated into adventure scenes - replace with non-alcoholic Cinnamon Tea for T1 Fire food

Cinnamon Tea w/ Lemon (Makes 5)
    • 1 Chunk of Coal
    • 1 Bucket of Water
    • 5 Tea Leaves
    • 5 Cinnamon Bark
    • 5 Lemons
    • 1 Sack of Sugar
    • 1 Milk

This way, fire attunement food isn't entirely dependent on fishing, and there is a better balance of rare dropped ingredients in higher tier foods.

    Thanks for considering!

Edit: Added color coding to get my point across clearer.

This is what I was trying to get across in the stream yesterday, also it is forcing fire mages to do fishing, the only food I can see that is not fish based is the demon food which is a 3 slot food.

This is a very major nerf to fire mage food buff.

Honestly, this does absolutely nothing for me. In fact I really hate this obsession with making everything you can do in a game relevant to combat by turning it into a buff of some kind. It forces itself into adventuring in a stupid way, where you just figure out the best food for your character, carry 30 pounds of it in your backpack, treat it like a tax on combat, and never eat anything else again. But what's even worse is that if anyone did want to play out cooking in a real sense, like run a tavern or RP in their town or whatever the food system does not support them at all because it had to be co-opted for combat.

Well, what else would it be for? And if somebody is running a tavern for RP, what do they care whether a steak gives buffs or not? Are you also annoyed that all those fine craftsmen are seeing the swords they make being used to kill stuff?

Why do people go to fishing contests? Why do they brew creatively named beverages in heraldry casks? Why do they decorate houses?

Still don't see your problem. If people want to cook "for fun" having it give buffs does not stop them from doing so. If anything, it provides more recipes for RPers to make. Without buffs, there probably wouldn't have been much effort put into a cooking system to begin with.

It has neither an expressive nor a competitive aspect to it, so it doesn't create any goals of its own. It's simply busy work you need to do to have the best combat performance. I simply don't care for that kind of thing.

This isn't a system that makes cooking fun for people who want to cook, this is a system that tries to make people who care about stats cook when they otherwise wouldn't.

So what does that look like? And can it be done with current tech?

Apologies, seems I left the spreadsheet filtered for the DPS items. The filter has been reset so you can see the entire list again.
