Hello folks. I'm posting this for a friend.

He's just returned to SotA after an absence, got all updated, but the game experiences unity crashes very frequently - several times in a session, in fact.

Insofar as I know he has a great system and ran the game fine last autumn. He's tried lowering the graphics settings to no avail.

Have any of you experienced frequent unity crashes to desktop?

Thank you very much for your kind advice in advance.

The only crash I get lately is the heap one. 3-5 times a day.

Try the latest patch they've just switched off a new Unity thing to see if it's causing the crashes some are now seeing.

I haven't been crashing so much as having truly ridiculous performance issues. My swapfile is getting 100% hammered all of a sudden. I've had zero performance issues at full graphics settings. Ever. Suddenly, all weird performance issues. I"ll log in tonight and see where things are after this latest patch.

Nope. Memory usage seems (for me at least) to be off the charts. 99% physical usage and 100% swapfile hits after last patch. Not sure what's going on. Haven't changed anything else that i can think of that would cause it. Game is essentially unplayable at the moment.

Good call, i'll post my specs and the situation over there. I'm not crashing. I can patch, load and run the game normally. It just devours all system resources while it is running.

Hi there. I have some more details about the unity crashing.

My friend reformatted his harddrive, updated his drivers, reseated his graphics card, and, of course, re-installed the game, but exactly the same problem persists.

Unity crashes within ~10 minutes of play. Consistently.

Any other ideas? Anyone else experiencing a similar problem?

Update on my situation. After reinstalling (no change) and expanding and recreating my swapfile, (no change) I dropped in another 16GB of memory (for a total of 24GB).

Viola. Working just fine. Now, instead of pegging physical memory at 98%, it stays at an even 47%. Now, rather than pegging my swapfile at 100% it averages about 55%. So, from my perspective, it seems that at least as of Release 65 (and probably a bit earlier) the beast has been growing and now consumes about 12GB-13GB physical memory just to run.

Not thrilled with having to have upgraded the memory, but eh, i'm just happy everything is running smoothly again.

Yes I run on 8gb main memory and 2gb video memory on both my PCs - it consumes most of it leaving me just a bit to run discord and 1-2 tabs on chrome

I am not crashing though, but I didnt push my luck opening too many browser tabs
