Virtue System [spoiler warning]

Can we again sum up what effects which virtue and how to game this system?

TRUTH

• Lying about your name in conversations with NPC lower your truth.
• Telling the truth about your name in conversations raise your truth

LOVE

• Spend a coin to beggars raise Love
• Deny to spend a coin lowers Love

COURAGE

• plundering corpses of dead NPC lowers your courage?
• killing Fauns lowers courage

QUESTS

• some quests raise or lower any virtue by decisions of the character. Mostly obvious.

Please give more input and correct me if i'm wrong.

Do we have Mobs that raise or lower any virtue?
Killing Rabbits lowers Courage?
Killing Unicorns lowers Love?
Killing xy raise a virtue?

Need input on this.

 

it would make sense that killing fauns would lower courage.


also, i think it may not be safe to assume that system is as simple as it seems. maybe an action that raises one lowers another.

I believe killing Cultists raises Courage.

 

Stealing lowers Truth.

 

Waking npcs may lower courage.. at least the Oracle commented on it in my courage report once, that I was "putting my needs above another's rest"

 

Wisps don't attack unless provoked and in earlier Ultimas were good so does attacking them have an effect ?

Man. I feel bad about some of those fawns now...

I'm trying to get my Shroud Grey again, but nothing helps.
Before i could just be rude to some beggars and i was Grey again, yesterday i did a quest with and decided to go anti virtue , but my Shroud is still white :-/

 

I don’t recount anyone with a Shroud noticing any color changes.

They either have not put the Virtue loss/gain in, or its extremely tiny. Or it’s keeping track of something else....

 

I'm not ready to turn completely evil yet. Not until I know how that might effect Ep 2 .

Although those Obsidian ruins in my basement might affect that ....

 

Killing the Oracle's minions affects truth, I think. I know that I have seen a negative comment from her when performing the occasional daily test, and believe I remember it being connected to the path of Truth.

 

To lower your Truth, steal deco, and lots of it!

Many releases ago, I went to the old Tenebris Harbor and found all the townspeople dead. I happily went about avenging their untimely end and, after I cleaned out the mobs, started loading up on deco, especially the fish that were just lying there rotting. I must have snagged 50 assorted fish and many other odds and ends. The next time I saw the Oracle, I said "Yes" about the path of Truth and did NOT pass. I had always passed before so there was a direct correlation between stealing deco from a dead town and lowering my Truth virtue. I have not finished the main quest with this avatar so cannot tell you what color his shroud would be but it has been MONTHS and I still have to answer "No" about Truth. Hope this 'helps'.

Killing cabalists raises courage.

 

Stealing lowers truth score. In fact, it seems that you only need one incident (like accidentally double clicking that red item rather than the NPC; thanks hitching) to make your truth score negative.

 

I certainly hope not. My avatar auto-murders rabbits regularly without any input from me.

 

Yeah it seems the bug has come back.

 

If I remember right, Lum told somewhere, they deleted this because of the result for NEW PLAYERS.
I don't know if it was toggled to have influence from a special Adv.lvl. I don't think so.

 

That's awful. Also while using magic it happens so fast with a lot of animals
There should be an option to NOT USE MAGIC ON PEACEFUL CREATURES, @Chris
