Wands and Staffs why are they melle?

    These should be switched back to range being with all the gem enchantments you can do. What mage that uses wand or staff would stand next to their opponent to make them activate? Most mages stay at range from their target.

    Staves should be polearms so mages can mix in crowd control. I see no reason for bludgeon on a mage. Wands could just be decorative focus items and work fine.

    I don't think going back to ranged auti-attack is going to happen tho.

    Wands are great bludgeon weapons. no reason to change it. im quite happy with them this way!

    See above! Leave my bludgeon wand alone! it is so fun to play!

    Because if you run out of focus as a mage and can no longer attack, you need something you can hit the enemy with as a last ditch effort before running or dying:)?

    I kinda feel annoyed that my char holds a 2 handed staff like an axe.

    Currently this is not a thing, wands staffs do 0-1 dmg.
    If this was upped, even to like...3-5 or something...it would help...a lot.
    I would LOVE to be able to beat something with a staff/wand when I'm out of focus, which lets face it, since the R31 focus cost mega-incrase, is most of the time.
    Even if that was in melee range - I'll take it.

    But at least you can die trying? And yes, I've tried before finally taking a look at the staff:D

    You save focus by stacking.

    I find stacking identical glyphs become more crucial since the last focus consumption increase. I used to keep my deck small for faster drawn speed, now I have to add couple extra glyphs and combine them to keep focus cost low.

    Anyway, wand and staff are moved from ranged to bludgeon because they were people who used them to train ranged combat with using arrows. So it is very unlikely that they will go back to that tree.

    I just find stacking to be so clunky and an unfun way to play. I wish there was an autostacking function for glyphs of the same type.

    Hmm, I prefer no weapon for a mage myself. I guess I'm just a hardcore pure mage masochist. If I run out of focus/mana, I'd rather have some type of magic-based way to defend myself. Even if it ends up close range. Any damage is better than none I guess but I'm just not a fan of wielding a weapon as a mage. I heard pole-arm and shuddered. :p I realize it's because of the length to keep something at bay (CC) but I honestly pictured me with a halberd and nearly fainted.

    Yeah, get rid of the wands and staves, create books and orbs !!! Remove the ability to cast spells for weapon wearers (bows and melee) (except life tree, earth tree and fire tree for ignite weapon) but let them do all the existing combos, not the "pure" spell. Then we will see real specialisation.

    I love my bludgeon wand! Handy and fun to knock back/stun some mob every so often! :)
