Want your poetry or Fan fiction read as a podcast?

Very happy for you Baldrith your podcasts have not only taken flight here but the other place they are broadcast ~smiles~ it is amazing to see how far you have flourished, and your voices from where they started to where they are now is absolutely amazing from leaps and bounds. I really love this. Haven't had time to listen to everything yet, just some snippets, but the whole concept (and judging by the reviews, the execution too!) has awesome-sauce drizzled all over it. Maybe I'll get a submission in there too!

Oh and non-English readings would be UH-MAZING! Could even be used as a great learning tool for those working at a new tongue.

Hahah, ya I some days do get caught up, but not very often

 

It's very hard to write fan fiction right now because there isn't enough of the story out there. While BotA is up to 20 chapters, what's there is very focused. You don't know enough about the world outside of the main character and his associates to really guess at anything that might fit with RG's vision. Also, it doesn't help that BotA takes part some hundred odd years before the story in SotA, if I remember right.

I do know that RG doesn't want people writing fan fiction that contradicts what he has in mind for the story, so it's a touchy subject. I also know we're not allowed to write stories that involve other Avatars unless we have the permission of those Avatars. (Well, it's legal to write the stories, but if you post them here they'll probably be removed.)

You can write a backstory for your character, though, since your character is supposed to have come from Earth. For the sake of storytelling, I personally would appreciate it if RG could tell us whether Avatars only come from Earth or if it's possible that some Avatars might come from other worlds as well. I guess I just have to be patient for that, though. I imagine in a few months BotA will give us some answers, then eventually SotA will give us even more.

You know whats really cool? I am in SCA and Viking is my persona and i could read the runic there! Never thought id really have to use it that much after basic learning of it.

 

Oath of the Warsworn - Dark Poetry collection

Gripping his sword tight the blood rushed to his hands,
He was the sworn protector of these war torn lands,
Even though death was likely to prevail,
This one mission he could not fail,
Innocent lives were at stake this dark and dreary day,
A storm brewed on the horizon clouds dark and grey,
Climbing upon his mount he rode off towards the storm,
His shadowy figure a silhouette strong and stout was his form,
The people shouted praise as he passed through the street,
The evil that plagued them soon death it would meet,
No shiny armour no medals not even high born,
Off into battle he stayed true to the oath of "War Sworn",
Although he was a Hospitlar healer of pain,
He was Warrior first and foremost the strongest link in the chain,
As metal clashed with metal and blood stained the ground,
This one single warrior would not be downed,
Beaten to the mud fighting from his knees,
He held firm his footing solid as Oak trees,
As the bodies lay around he felt a sudden and sharp pain,
He knew that his enemies this day, were not the only ones to be slain,
He fell over into the mud and took his last breath,
Felt the cold chill creeping up on him followed by death,
He fought well this last battle and Bards shall sing his name,
Although he was a modest Knight unknown he shall remain.

I believe Lord Baldrith may be getting low on work (although not out yet). We also have a couple of other people I am in talks with that may be helping to do voices or additional podcasts.

The down side is I im running low on stuff to go "chase" without spending hours and hours on the forums. That's very true, Just last week we had the same problem with Lord Baldrith.... Where Gabriel Nighshadow wanted more live action sound effects for his storyline and Lord Baldrith refused to go through with the guillotine scene
