Warding skills do not increase from taking elemental damage?

Title: The breach's elementals don't train warding skills
Reproduction Rate: 100%

Details: Trying to train warding skills with the attacks from Elementals in The Breach does not work, they will hit me with Earthquake, Ice Arrow, Chain lightning, etc, but the actual warding skills gain 0 experience
Steps to Reproduce: Set Fire/Water/Air/Earth warding to training, get attacked by an elemental in the scene.

as designed. the warding skills train when you use an active skill in those trees, not when you're hit with those damage types.

 

I think this is intended.. getting attacked doesn't increase these skills.. using a glyph in the same skill tree does.. ex: I increased Air Warding in the Earth tree by using Stone Fist, and summoning an Earth Elemental.

 

Elementals don’t do elemental attacks (they only do physical), so an elemental resistance wouldn’t be going up.

 

warding skills don't level from environmental damage like the river in vertas either.

 

Are we sure this is Intended? Why would Fire Proof train when being hit by fire damage, but not fire warding? Both do the same thing?

Maybe ask for dev review here?
