    Knowing @Kigu Starfish (Kor) has crafted it all, soloed it all and PvPed em all I'm pretty excited to know he has joined Port. He will bring a wealth of knowledge about the game first and foremost as an avid fan and one of the top testers out there. Hands down the best telethon prize Port has scored for itself.

    I agree a player will be a great asset for the team. I did not hear in which capacity of development Kor was hired though. Does anyone have more information as to what title he holds? A title would be something like 'senior programmer' for example. ;)

    Ahhh ok I did see that announcement telling they were looking for a web developer. To me though a web developer sounds like web site developer, would anyone know if he will be working inside the game or outside the game like on this website? I'm just trying to understand the part he will play in making this game. Most Devs I know play more than one part too ;)

    One of the major aspects of this game is that the top-end content seems to be largely solo-able when you reach a certain point. While there are certain areas in the game not meant to be high-end that should not restrict you there are some places and opponents that should enforce a skill cap. Fighting a dragon? Your skills should cap at 80ish against it and it should be strong enough to easily wipe out anyone solo, requiring a group and with abilities that would make the group work for the kill. The numbers shown with the telethon of "dragonslayers" were just too ridiculous. Hopefully, Kor can add challenge to the game and reasons to undertake such challenges. While games like WoW seem to constantly up the level cap they have done great things with "Timewalking", lowering their level and gear score in a way that brings back challenges and enforce the group dynamic. Heck, it's basically what they did with the entirety of the Legion expansion. SoTA, however, could maintain the current "level" while adding challenge zones that cap skills, negate equipment bonuses, ect.

    That begs the question though, what would drive you to undertake these challenges? Tie them to quests? Rare resources, patterns or decorations? Unlocking new areas to explore on the overland map?
