Thank you everyone for participating in the Welcome Quest during R9 on Saturday at 3:00pm noon Central Time. Here is a recap with pictures.

We started out at Beran's Reach home of The Bear Tavern. The Bear Tavern was handing out free drinks while the festivities began. Everyone was excited and wanted more.

Duke Greagoir started the Welcome Quest on the stage and anyone who had a Broken Torch before the quest (by getting one around the towns from Duke Violation, Winfield Paxlair, or Duke Greagoir) were able to exchange that for a blue Welcome Torch. This signifies that they on the quest and the quest was the only way to get one.

Inspired of the Gypsy Wagon from long time ago in Britannia, everyone was met with a decision they needed to take. They met a stranger in a dark cloak on the side of the road while they were traveling north. Do they?
    A) Help the Stranger?
    B) Attack and kill the Stranger?

If the Questors took option A and help the Stranger, they received a Broken Bench from Kumakaze. Then traveled to Dara Brae, The Celtic Holdfast.

One they all arrived Duke Greagoir introduced them to the new name and explained that Keira the Bard at the Crafting Pavilion would help them with the next part of the quest.

Keira the Bard explained the mechanics of crafting on the Carpentry station by needing a Carpentry Hammer and some boards. The questors could make either a bench thus "fixing" the broken bench or they could make a wooden wall and "reusing"the broken bench into the construction of the wall. Keira handed out wood that Duke Greagoir chopped down that morning. (300 boards - wow!)

While the questors made their choice and soon they had both fixed benches and new wooden walls. Duke Greagoir continued his story with how crafting is an important part of the Dara Brae culture and takes pride with their quality wood crafting.

If the Questors took option B and attacked and killed the Stranger they received a Broken Sword. Then traveled to the Town of Vengeance.

They were met by Duke Violation and traded in their broken sword for a Welcome Sword, but they needed to partake in some combat. All had fun battling and dueling.

Both groups then traveled to PaxLair to take in more adventure. PaxLair is the final city on the Welcome Quest in R9.

PaxLair was the final stop that both the groups stopped at. Once both groups arrived at PaxLair, Winfield the Governor brought them to their Vendor Market area. Then a quick tour of PaxLair and their unique buildings.

Then everyone went to the stage and met up with "The Stranger"!! I think everyone was surprised in seeing the stranger and wondered what was next.

Both groups broke out and pondered what they were going to present on stage as Winfield asked both groups to role play what happened when each group met the stranger on the road.

    Help the Stranger group discussing:

    Attack the Stranger group thinking:

The "Attack the Stranger" group went first and played out how they plotted to kill and do other things to his body. The Stranger was no match against this group.

The "Help the Stranger" group went second and showed how they found the stranger and his wagon on the side of the road in need of help. They mended his wagon, and made lost supplies to build the stage for a play the Stranger was going to be putting on. They made benches and wooden walls to set up the stage and seating area.

Then the Stranger asked this group to help promote the play as it was after the time - they went the extra mile and agreed to go to all of the cities and promote the play!

Everyone had a great time and enjoyed all of the unique twists and storytelling!
