What happened to the physical version of the game ??

Well, its confirmed. Random people donating any money to the telethon will be getting their maps before kickstarter backers.

EDIT: Even if they are signed.

 

Did they give a new eta and/or explanation?

 

Richard has to sign all maps and then send them for packiging.
Thats impossible within the next weeks before end of Q2.
I cant remember a new eta, but i think its after that above.

 

Why is that impossible?

 

Making a lot of stuff the way you want takes time.
More so if your funds are not without limits.
Many companies making things like that offer lower prices if you do not insist on a set date delivery so they can make it if nothing else is in the works.
Maps have to be signed, everyone who did something like that before knows that writing the same over and over again makes you aware of what carpal tunnle syndrome really means.

jeez i am not the most patient person by large but really...

 

I get that they haven't made physical goods a priority. That's pretty obvious, since the goods still aren't here.

I DON'T GET that they keep promising (starting with the kickstarter itself and periodically and repeatedly for the past FIVE YEARS) that they will be delivering the goods.

It's outrageous. Inexcusable.

Either deliver the goods or stop teasing us and belittling yourselves. At this point Port has made a jackass out of everyone - themselves, and all their paying, faithful and (formerly?) loyal customers.

 

Ok, so I apologize if I missed something here I didn't get a chance to see the last telethon. Have the physical goods been pushed back again? What's the deal with the maps? Sorry if this has already been explained, just getting excited to actually receive the physical goods.

 

By the end of tomorrow, all the Maps should have been hand signed by Lord British and shipped off to the fulfillment center where the actual assembly of the boxes will occur. I believe that is the last item that needs to be delivered before the assembly and shipping can begin. This is also being recorded and the recording will be posted... proof that Lord British actually hand signed the maps... Though, no doubt, some conspiracy theorist will claim the recording is as fake as the moon landing.

Some people are complaining because they may not get their boxes before 30th of June, which is the end of Q2. There are still more than two weeks left to get the physical good shipped prior to the end of Q2, which would meet the advertised schedule.

But, people will find something to complain about, no matter what Portalarium does because they operate from the premise that Portalarium operates first and foremost from a position of deceit and dishonesty... It's best just to tune them out and not feed the trolls.

 

The cloth map looks pretty cool! Wish I was getting one!
