I saw an older post saying the following costs:

But I think that was before the COTO adjustment. Does anyone know the current costs?

    Thank you!

A different system is used for paying taxes with crowns now. Every coto can be converted into 300gp worth of tax credit which can then be applied to a lot. So for instance a Row Lot is 250gp a day rent, or 7,500gp for 30 days. You could also convert 25 Crowns of the Obsidian into 7,500gp in tax credit, then apply that credit to the lot for the same effect.

It should be noted that crowns sell to players for about 400gp now, so if one wanted to put in a little extra effort they'd be better off selling crowns to another player then paying taxes with gold directly.

Is this true or out of date? Village lot is 3500 gold/week or 2 crowns/week per that link above. That makes COTOs worth 1750 each as in game tax payment?

    **EDIT**

Looks like the main lot deed page in the wiki has been updated to the 1 COTO/300gp. The individual ones are way wrong :)

    Upkeep[edit]
Lots have an in-game currency tax that must be paid or the lot reverts to being for sale and the Property Deed is returned to the owner. Backers at Ancestor level and above receive a tax-exempt Property Deed, but the lot can still revert after an extended amount of inactivity (5 months at Citizen level, + one month per tier above that)[2].

The upkeep rates in gold are:[3]

    Row: 250 gold per day
    Village: 500 gold per day
    Town: 1000 gold per day
    City: 2000 gold per day
    Keep: 3000 gold per day
    Castle: 4000 gold per day

One CotO will apply 300 gold in credit on a lot deed.[4][5]

Waste of money using COTOs to pay taxes - sell them at one of the many COTO player buyers and pay taxes with gold

Ok I will definitely have to locate these COTO buyers. Thanks for the feedback.
