Since that mentioned crafted gear sold to NPCs having this impact, it would make absolutely no impact on what crafters will make due to NPCs paying under the material cost in most cases. I guess there will be a lot of bandits running around with wolf hats....

Honestly this has been an issue for me since crafting was introduced in R4 as well, and it's kept me away from crafting.

The problem comes down to this - it's not fun.

I'm not talking about the UI, we've rejigged that many times (for the better, I think), but it is incredibly daunting to see how many resources you need to make a single thing.

Crafting was fun in UO because it didn't take a mountain of effort to get the ingots/wood unless you were trying to skill up your production skill. If you wanted to make a single thing, it wouldn't cost you your life.

Really make the items 0/100 if they fail enchanting and have a special super expensive enchantment failure recovery kit or something like that make the item totally useless unless it's fixed with a special rare item. There are ways to offset the problem without throwing away literally hours of work. I made a Epic Cloth Fustian Set of Armor and it took hours of farming resources and thousands of gold to make. It took like a week and a half to complete it.

It gets worse if you want to make decent enchants on every armor piece:)

You all have a lot of changes coming soon, still going to use resources and training, as it should be and it gets even more complicated (complex)

Crafting is going in the right direction but will take a while before it is all flushed out, so patients and if you are the type who has to have you equipment NOW, and with the maximum affects you are not going to be happy but, again suits of the highest quality and made of the strongest materials and with the best magical properties is going to take ALOT , and I mean A L O T, of resources, time and training.

    Items also will break eventually. May take some time but . . . . . . .

The term "a chance" could be anywhere from 0.00000001% to 100% then?
