What wrong with ranged ??

    Now if I try to atack any mob from long range, I will make ZERO damage even if all is clear between me and target and target could easily come to me.
    1) Are you sure that archer tactic is - atack obsidian bear from 5 meters ?
    2) Why I need range innate and hard maple bow ? now it is absolutely useless....
    I try to make pure archer now without air and with this it is absolutely impossible.

    You are NOT in range or they target can not attack you back therefore, out of range, you can hit but not damage- same as other post with same problem with 0 damage with ranged

    Nope, its not him. Its any elevation change in Ranged right now. Our Archers are noticing it too. ALL my spells strike zeros's until they are right in front of me, or are on the exact same plane as me. @Attenwood

    They broke it with a bad fix for people that leave auto attack on and shoot everything they walk by. So now it does 0 damage until your are attacked.

    Oh thank goodness this thread is in the feedback forum! A'cuz I got some!

    As a mage this is ridiculous. More than half the baddies run away and wont attack until they are hit.
    Now I can't hit em until they attack.
    See the conundrum?

    Yeah, you can't do this @Attenwood , @Chris , @DarkStarr .

    You can't make core combat changes on the fly like this without testing, post persistence. You're screwing with everything and breaking everything. Stop breaking your persistent live game. :mad::(:mad:

    Yeah, this is lame. How about all the folks who deliberately leveled up a ranged spell to kite mobs. And you did just encourage every player to go down the archer /ranger path.

    :rolleyes: These things I always love to hear about, because it means somebody somewhere has figured it out!
    Unfortunately, I'm not one of those yet :( But a persistent world isn't a released one yet, so many of our combat system's problems, "or mysteries" have yet to be ironed out.
    I'm keeping the faith, but still shaking and scratching my head about it all o_O
    But if someone say they like it, then that keeps my hope alive.

    Is this something that happened in the last couple of patches? The very last patch I've not been able to test at all, because of other issues, but before that I haven't noticed issues with either elevation or distance.

    For those running around with auto attack and complaining about killing random stuff.... PRESS T!!!. Its really simple.

    @Chris Plz put range back to how it was.

    I stand corrected, apparently mouse movers have no way to move without auto attack. Either way its still broke :(:mad:

    i think more people are leaving auto attack on because they broke mouse movement unless you actually have it active. it used to be that if you disabled free attack and unsheathed your weapon, but didn't turn on the auto attack, you were in a movement-only mode. now if you disable free attack and unsheath, you are in free attack mode until you turn on the autoattack, EVEN IF YOU HAVE DISABLED IT, and so cannot move with the mouse. that's been broken since before release 32.

    It works just fine if you use the WASD keys to move and right mouse to "look".

    Elf archers easily brings to me 50+ dmg for one shot on the distance which I make zero dps to him. Nice :D

    Could someone please suggest a place where I could possibly try to replicate this? I managed to test it a little bit (20-30 minutes) in Deep Ravenswood, with red spiders (on a steep hill) and also some wolves, and was unable to replicate any issue with either distance or elevation. Am I missing something?

    I dont use auto attack and i suffer from same problem too. I am extremely fast tho so its not a problem, 60+ dash, sprint and acrobatics and the likes. So i run up to them in their face shoot a charged arrow, then the hit registers and i can just spam ranged stuff with normal damage numbers. Its certainly broken a bit.
