I have been unable to place rough stone or dark rough stone building blocks, and yet I see other people have been successful.

I don't see anything in the instructions or known issues.
I don't see any bug reports other than mine, which hasn't been addressed.

    What am I missing?

Make sure you're standing inside your property line? If you're outside you might be unable to place. Just a thought.

Weird, should just work like any other deco item.

Yep. I cleared a city lot and stood right in the middle of it just to make sure.

Agreed. I can place other items. It is just the blocks that don't work for me.

I pull the blocks out of my inventory, and they turn red like any other decoration. But never turn green when I drag them around my lot. If I am off my lot, when I drag them out of my inventory, their icon stays the same small grey icon. When I am on my lot, they are full size, but stay red. I can tap E or Q or R and watch them turn and rotate, but they are never green.

Sounds like a true bug. A friend and I placed a bunch of the White stone blocks last night. Are you placing them on a lot or in a PoT (not that it should matter)?

I wonder if it is the blocks from the add-on store that are bugged, rather than something I am doing wrong.

The one I used last night were the white blocks w/recipes from the add-on store. Haven't tried placing the newer add-on dark colored blocks, or the in-game blocks that are crafted.

Might sound silly but have ya tried logging in and out and trying to place them then. I'm guessing you've tried all the normal work-arounds, but just in-case.

Yes. Logged in and out several times since R23 went live.
The blocks I have from the add on store are called Craftable Rough Stone Building Blocks and Dark Rough Stone Building Blocks. Neither works.

I've placed the add-on store dark blocks.

You can place other items on your lot?

I can place lamp posts, a hot tub, geocache chest, and pavers.

I think at this point a snapshot of the lot is a good idea. Maybe one with all the stuff you mentioned above.

    Indeed.
I logged in and tried to place blocks. They didn't work.
I put a greyhound down, and I still could not place blocks.
I put down a Lord's Throne, and then the blocks started working.

    Thank you @Spoon !

I had this same issue and had raised a bug, however it just started working again. I hadn't clued in on why it started working again until reading your post and it must have happened after I placed some wooden walls down.

Now that I've had a play with them I can tell you it's not so easy to stack them. I'm told this is by design.
