Where are the crafting mats?

This is probably a very idiotic question but I can not find crafting mats anywhere. I've looked in chests and found tables to craft on, etc. but can't find the raw mats....also can't find that damn Mayor of Kingstown! haha I think this is one of those days for me however, I'm actually playing SotA

 

The crafting components are in the chests inside the crafting pavilion in Owl's Head. I haven't spent much time in Kingsport so I had no idea they had a mayor.

 

Yes he's a bit hard to find and it's confusing. I think the Guild Hall is just where he stays with his wife Erin, whom they say, is a real hard one. I have found her rather pleasant though

 

Do we have to learn recipes to craft? I'm looking at tailoring something and can't seem to figure it out.

 

Yes I know you have to learn them which I think is very clever, trial and error I would imagine. You can also press R to find out what you have learned so that's convenient. I'm sure they stated the crafting mats where in Owl's Head in the email they sent me so I now feel rather silly but such is life. Back to Owl's Head to craft me some epic chairs!!!!
