White outline around objects

    My client often displays objects in scenes with a white outline, as if there is a light directly behind the object. It's not on every object, but many objects. I've seen it on PCs, NPCs, and non player objects.

    I started playing Shroud again yesterday for the first time in over a year. I don't remember this happening previously.

    Maybe I need to make adjustments to the video settings. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    try boosting your reflection quality to high.

    Thanks. Your screenshots are exactly what I am seeing. Tonight I will see if my Reflections setting is empty like yours is. I am using Windows.

    When I signed in my Reflections setting was not empty. It was set to medium. But changing it to high made the issue improve enough that I did not notice it anymore. Thanks.

    Im not sure if the bug in Ports records is for the empty setting in Linux or for the white outline in both clients. Can we view their bug numbers in more detail? I can file another report if the bug number is not comprehensive.

    I was originally complaining about the reflections effect itself beginning at R54 QA. I thought that a setting was inadvertently bumped in the code that resulted in what I was calling "frosty coat". I found it very distressing since previous releases, I thought, looked really good. Ultimately, @CatweazleX pointed out that it goes away when the Reflections Quality setting is set to high, which led to me discovering that the setting was broken.
